Job Title: Software EngineerJob Description
We are seeking a talented Software Engineer to design and develop software in C++ that interacts with LabVIEW. You will be responsible for triaging defects, developing software unit tests, and reviewing the testing team's software verification protocols. Additionally, you will analyze software for failure modes and develop risk mitigation solutions. You will also improve the quality of your team's software through design reviews and ensure compliance with the organization's quality management system. Collaboration with the team on planning sprints, improving the quality of the team's backlog of tickets, and defining and completing tasks is crucial. Other project tasks may be assigned as needed.
Responsibilities
Design and develop software in C++ that interacts with LabVIEW.
Triage defects and develop software unit tests.
Review software verification protocols created by the testing team.
Analyze software for failure modes and develop risk mitigation solutions.
Conduct design reviews to improve software quality.
Ensure compliance with the organization's quality management system.
Collaborate with the team on planning sprints and managing the backlog of tickets.
Define and complete assigned tasks.
Perform other project tasks as assigned.
Essential Skills
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
Experience developing software in C/C++, including object-oriented and functional programming.
Good understanding of LabVIEW software development.
Proficient in embedded C, software testing, and electrical engineering.
Strong knowledge of computer science, including embedded systems, operating systems, and compilation.
Experience with cardiovascular products.
Strong interpersonal skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
Capacity to thrive in a fast-paced environment and eagerness to acquire new knowledge.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Familiarity with statistics and statistical tools.
Embedded software experience.
3-4 years of experience writing test scripts in LabVIEW.
Work Environment
You will be working in a small company with a startup feel, consisting of about 10-15 people. The facility includes a manufacturing room, clean room, and quality department, along with office spaces. While the role is relatively hands-on, you will primarily be working at a desk with a computer for most of the day. The position reports to the Director of Engineering.
