The Director of Human Resources will work in concert with the HR Departments Leaders to plan, lead, direct, develop, and coordinate the policies, activities, and staff of the Human Resources (HR) department. They will ensure that legal compliance and requirements are achieved while collaborating closely with the SR VP HR to direct the day-to-day activities of the department.Essential Functions:
Collaborates with the Leadership Team and Supervisors to understand the organization's goals, needs, and strategy related to staffing, recruiting, and retention.Supervises, sets priorities of work, and conducts performance reviews.Plans, leads, develops, coordinates, and implements policies, processes, training, initiatives, and surveys to support the organization's compliance requirements.Oversees the administration of HR programs including compensation, benefits, employee relations, disciplinary actions, disputes and investigations; performance, talent management; onboarding and out-processing, recognition, morale, training and development, and safety.Responsible for ensuring that the policies and procedures of the department are updated and current and that they meet the requirements and needs of the organization.Monitors and ensures organizational compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.Protects both the company and data; ensures data integrity and accuracy.Meets with employees and supervisors on conduct, performance, complaints, and concerns.Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in HR, talent management, and employment law.Assists with the development of the departmental budget.Conducts investigations and inquiries as needed.Leads and directs department projects.Prepares and/or reviews HR reports and slides as needed.Provides training, direction, and guidance to company supervisors.Reviews for accuracy/approves expenditures, offer letters, and various personnel actions.Additional Responsibilities:
Performs other duties as assigned.Qualifications:
Masters Degree and a minimum of 6 years, or a Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 10 years of related experience is required. Individual must demonstrate that they have performed, at a minimum, 5+ years’ experience working as an HR Director, VP HR, or higher position to be considered. Individual must have a minimum of 3 years of experience working with C-Suite level executives.An applicant who has previously worked for a defense contractor is highly preferred.SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP highly preferred. Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, exhibit organizational skills and attention to detail, and have excellent time management skills with the proven ability to meet deadlines.Strong analytical, problem-solving skills, and judgment are required, along with strong supervisory and leadership skills. Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations is essential. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and ability to quickly learn the organization's HRIS and talent management systems is required.Employee must possess or be able to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance. Employee must be a U.S. citizen to access and review data.This position is subject to a background check that includes a review of criminal records and credit. The company considers the nature of the crime, the time that has elapsed since the crime, and the essential functions in making an individualized determination.Physical Efforts
