As the Engineering Project Coordinator, you will:
With general supervision, you will oversee the execution of City infrastructure and building projects from planning through construction phases. Additionally, you will assist in coordinating larger capital improvement projects managed by the Project Manager. Successful completion of these projects will rely on collaboration with City Departments and contractors to ensure timely and budget-compliant results.
Coordinates project activities between City staff and contractors regarding improvement projects.Coordinates with project management staff to select and contract with consultants and contractors.Prepares contract documents and agenda items for council authorization.Prepares reports relating to the award and extension of design and construction contracts.Coordinates the contracting, billing, and payment to all consultants and contractors.Participates in a project team composed of city representatives and consultants; facilitates the advancement of a project through various phases of project implementation.Presents project status reports to the City engineer.Administers consultants and construction contracts.Oversees and inspects construction projects to ensure the Department receives the agreed quality and scope of work while verifying that contractors adhere to contract specifications, building codes, construction standards, and project timelines.Schedules, plans, and writes work requests, inspections, and work notices to complete job assignments and building inspections on schedule.Assist with developing formal bid contract documents to provide vendors with documents to facilitate bidding and construction of projects.Secures estimates and quotes and initiates purchase orders to procure services, supplies, materials, tools, and equipment needed to support unit operations.Develops and submits weekly reports of projects' status, requests assistance, advises of problems or needs, and reports project quality and completion.Inspects city infrastructure and property and generates work orders for necessary repairs.Assists with preparation for Bids (IFB), Requests for Quotation (RFQ), Requests for Proposals (RFP), and formal bid specifications and documents for services, supplies, equipment, tools, and materials for various construction projects and operational contract services.Assists with conducting feasibility studies to determine the cost and impact of projects using a computer and miscellaneous office equipment, software, and construction cost manuals.Coordinates staff work on in-house construction projects and building contract vendors to ensure projects are being performed within established time frames, per approved building plans, and conforming with building codes and construction standards.Assists with reviewing bids and selecting vendors to ensure compliance with the State Procurement Code and ensure that materials, equipment, services, etc., comply with bid specifications.Maintains organized project files to ensure accurate records are accessible for future reference.Performs other duties as assigned.IDEAL CANDIDATE
