Summary:
Our growing, PE backed client is seeking a Director of Accounting to join their team! The Director of Accounting will oversee the company's accounting functions, ensuring the integrity of financial reports, compliance with regulatory standards, and alignment with strategic business objectives. This role will involve managing a team of accounting professionals and collaborating closely with senior leadership to support decision-making in a dynamic, growth-oriented environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage the accounting department, including financial reporting, general ledger, accounts payable, and payroll.
Ensure compliance with GAAP and regulatory requirements, as well as adherence to internal controls.
Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes, providing timely and accurate financial statements.
Partner with FP&A to support budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis to inform strategic initiatives.
Coordinate and manage external audits and tax preparations.
Implement process improvements and automation to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Serve as the primary point of contact for accounting matters related to mergers, acquisitions, and other PE-backed growth activities.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA required.
10+ years of experience in accounting, with at least 2 years in a management or leadership role.
Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
Public accounting and Big 4 experience a plus.
Proven leadership abilities with a track record of team development and process improvement.
Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate cross-functionally.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
