Peter Pennoyer Architects is seeking a Junior Designer to join our Interior Design team.The ideal candidate is passionate about design, has a strong work ethic and has excellent written and verbal skills.
Responsibilities include:
Assist on assigned project, as directed by Project Manager: conceptual sketches, sourcing, vendor options, materials, colors, furniture plans and elevationsAssist in requesting quotes from vendorsAssist in establishing and recording specificationsTake notes, measurements, photos and record details at meetingsAct as secondary vendor liaison on assigned projectsWork with vendors on all aspects sourcing, quoting, specifying and pricing, as directed by Project ManagerAssist in ensuring accurate incoming and outgoing information to and from the vendors, including, but not limited to, project deadlines, specifications and estimatesManage all design department document filing and binder upkeepUpdate and maintain resource libraryRun vendor related errands and provide general assistance to teamsRequirements:
Bachelors degree in Interior DesignMinimum of 1-3 years experience in high end residential interior designSoftware proficiency in Design Manager, Studio Designer or similar software1-2 years of professional experience in AutoCADMicrosoft Office Suite proficiency (Excel & Word specifically)Proficiency in Adobe Suite (InDesign & Photoshop specifically)Revit and Sketchup skills are a plusExpertise in reading architectural and furniture plans and elevations is a plusIdeal candidate is reliable, self motivated and comfortable working both independently and in a team settingMust be comfortable making material suggestionsExcellent written and verbal skills and the ability to communicate professionally
