Position DetailsThe Grainger Market Inventory team is a collaborative team manages over 5 million stock keeping units and $500 million in inventory across 350+ branches in the United States. Reporting to the Manager, Market Inventory Management, the Senior Planning Analyst, Market Inventory will manage $100-250M of inventory at U.S. based Branches as our customer's needs grow and change. You will partner with senior leadership across sales and branches to implement the inventory plan and to ensure high service levels for product availability while balancing a productive inventory investment. You will work with supply chain partners to ensure space, storage, and labor requirements align with inventory needs. This position requires 50% presence onsite at either the downtown Chicago Merchandise Mart office or Lake Forest, IL headquarters.You WillLead project and process work streams aimed at developing creative solutions and make recommendations to improve inventoryperformance.Develop relationships with supply chain partners (Branch Network, Sales, Distribution Center, Network Design, Transportation and Supplier Performance Management) to develop building strategies, identify constraints, recommend, and implement solutions to meet performance metric goals and long-term supply chain goals.Analyze planning data and prepare reports for leadership review and communicate performance topartners.Develop forecast modeling based on historical data and causal factors to make recommendations for inventorystrategies.Perform gap analysis, identify causes, recommend, and implement supply chain planningenhancements.Work with other analysts and management team to develop and perform analysis on supply chaingoals.Partner with Inventory Systems team to ensure integrity of planningrequirements.You HaveBachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain or related field or relevantexperience.Minimum of 3 years of experience in analysis with an emphasis in logistics,forecasting/planning.Knowledge of inventory management practices and definitions, such as safety stock, EOQ,and carryingcost.Rewards and Benefits
