The role you’ll contribute:
AdventHealth is making a big stride in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, dedicated to transforming members’ health experience using technology and analytics. To remain ahead of the curve, we are looking for innovative and committed individuals to help support data science as it relates to our Digital products. Our goal is to provide data driven direction by providing analytical solutions and information tools to AdventHealth leadership and clients that drive the positive impact of AdventHealth patients and organization.
We are currently hiring a Data Scientist. Under the direction of the Director of Corporate Data Science, the candidate will utilize cutting-edge AI and ML techniques, test rigorous hypotheses, design studies, turn data and insights into actionable plans within healthcare. They will generate solutions that effectively translate clients’ business problems into well-defined data modeling or analytics problems. Being part of a talented team of data scientists and engineers with broad skills and applications, the Data Scientist will work cross-functionally and collaboratively with teams across the organization through machine learning and cutting-edge platforms. The scope of our work includes predictive modeling, NLP, smart search capabilities, forecasting, designing business experiments, and Insight generation.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience on healthcare data, demonstrated ability to generate powerful insights and directions, demonstrated innovative and creative methods for overcoming testing constraints, as well as successfully applying AI and machine learning techniques to address business needs. He or she also possesses the technical know-how to work closely with the Data Warehouse and Big Data teams and will play a vital role in the design and implementation of cloud-based analytic solutions. The Data Scientist is a self-motivated investigator who will execute analytic projects with measurable return on investment to business leaders; communicate predictions and findings to leadership through effective data visualization and reports; promote the analytic work of the department through internal publications and conferences.
The value you’ll bring to the team:

Utilize the latest technologies and tools in AI, natural language processing (NLP), and large language model (LLM) to develop prototypes for business and deploy in production.
·
Develop and implement new algorithms for processing and imputing clinical, financial, and operational data in collaboration with other internal technical and engineering teams
·
Transform large amount of complex data into business insights and solution by using statistics or latest technology in machine learning, pattern recognition, text mining, and parallel/distributed computing
·
Identify data abnormalities and their root causes and suggest possible steps for mitigation.
·
Serve as a member in the AI governance initiatives to enhance transparency and accountability as well as promote safety, reliability and ethical standards.
·
Perform deep analytics and reports with recommended solutions around various topic areas.
·
Formulate validation strategies to ensure accurate and reliable data.
·
Follow best practices for developing analytic methodologies and software.
·
Advocate and educate on the value of data driven decision making focusing on the “how and why” of solving problems
·
Lead the life cycle of the data science project, from analysis, build, train, validate, and deploy
·
Create iterative, interpretable, dynamic and scalable models that are seamlessly incorporated into analytic data products based on feedback from multiple stakeholders
·
Engineer features by using their business acumen to find new ways to combine disparate internal and external structured and un-structured data sets and sources
·
Collaborate and learn with a growing team of experienced Data Scientists
·
Stay connected with external sources of ideas through conferences and community engagements
·
Interpret and communicate analytic results to analytical and non-analytical business partners.
