Job DescriptionSeeking a Data Governance Analyst that will be responsible for completing many job duties related to the Microsoft Purview application. Responsibilities include:
Implementation and oversight of electronic searches for documents through the eDiscovery Premium and Standard platforms. Corresponding with data/records requestors to develop and modify search terms as neededImplementation of searches, assist in the interpretation of results and producing results for final review by MSDH Data Governance or Legal before releaseOrganizing and indexing data assets for easy discovery and understandingApplying labels and tags to data based on sensitivity and regulatory requirementsTracking the origins, movements, and transformations of data throughout its lifecycleProviding analytical capabilities to derive insights and enhance decision-makingEnsuring data usage complies with regulatory standards and internal policiesCoordinate with relevant departments or personnel to retrieve requested data and compile necessary documents for disclosureEnsure completeness and accuracy of information provided in response to requestsCommunicate, as needed, with requesters to clarify requests, provide updates on processing status, and coordinate delivery of requested informationCollaborate with the Director of Data Governance to develop and revise policies, Standard Operating Procedures and guidelines related to data management and governanceEnsure that policies align with federal and state data laws, regulations and organizational objectivesMonitor and interpret federal and state data protection laws, regulation(such has HIPPAA) and industry standardsDevelop training materials and conduct sessions to educate agency staff on data governance policies, procedures, and regulatory requirementsFoster a culture of compliance and data stewardship across the organizationCollaborate with the Director of Data Governance in developing and designing data management applications and systems. Aim to improve the agency's data capabilities for public health purposesProvide general support to the agency in its projects funded under the CDC Public Health Infrastructure Grant, specifically under Strategy A3: Data ModernizationRequirements
Required
Proficiency in Microsoft 365 applications (Word, Excell, Outlook, Teams) and AdobeExperience in the utilization of Microsoft Purview to:implement and manage data governance frameworks that enhance organizational efficiency and comply with regulatory standards and conductConduct eDiscovery Premium searchesPreferred
Working knowledge of laws, regulations, and standards governing the management of sensitive data (HIPPA, NITECH, NIST Standards)Benefits
