Judicial Branch employees all support this mission, in their various roles. We have 31 courts across the state and process over 130,000 cases each year in support of Maine's almost 1.4 million residents.
The Job:
The State of Maine Judicial Branch is seeking a detail-oriented team player with strong customer service skills to join our team as a Helpdesk Lead. This position provides ordering and fiscal operations for support of staff IT needs. The Helpdesk Lead is the liaison and spokesperson for the Helpdesk and must maintain a professional image. This position will lead the other Helpdesk team members in all helpdesk-related support activities. The Helpdesk Lead takes the lead role supporting, training, and supervising Helpdesk personnel at the guidance of the Manager of Infrastructure and Technologies.
In this role, the employee provides support and maintenance of the computer desktop/laptop environment by analyzing requirements, resolving problems, installing hardware and software solutions, and leading the Maine Judicial Branch Helpdesk Team. This position is responsible for supporting computers, printers, and other end user equipment. Tasks include end user support, license tracking, computer maintenance, upgrades, ticket survey analysis reporting, and configurations while enjoying a full-time work schedule that fits your life needs.

Salary Range:
Grade 16, $33.09 to $43.11 per hour.

Provide technical assistance and support for incoming queries and issues related to computer systems, software, and hardware by asking questions to determine nature of problem and walking the customer through the problem-solving processTroubleshoot and resolve end-user hardware, operating system, and software-related problems and resolve Tier 1 and 2 Courtroom Audio Video and Assistive Listening device systemsGather information about the problems or questions that are not documented or those requiring more technical assistance from other OIT staff membersTroubleshoot and resolve network and server access problems for end-users, basic issues with the WAN, VLAN, firewall, VPN, voice communications, and voice mail systemsPrepare reports, distribute inter-office correspondence, file, and provide general assistance to OIT personnel as directed by the Manager of TechnologiesAssist in maintaining various Judicial Branch information systems such as Courts' Case Management System, e-mail, authentication services and others not yet defined.Assist System Administrator(s) and ISSS field technicians with fieldwork, as requestedInstall, modify, and repair computer hardware and softwareMay be significant in-state travel at various times as dictated by business needsSupervise, monitor, and provide feedback for the work of the helpdesk teamWe're Looking For:
An Associate's degree or one or more technology certifications is required, (e.g. Apple, Microsoft, COMPTIA, etc.)Three (3) to five (5) years' experience working with computer technology in a business environment requiredTwo (2) years of experience in a leadership or supervisory role, preferably within an IT helpdesk or technical support environmentStrong aptitude in O.S. Repairs, spyware removal, virus removal, hardware, troubleshooting, and software upgradesKnowledge of a wide breadth of information technology and the ability to diagnose and solve related technical issuesMust hold a valid driver's license and have transportation availableStrong organizational and communication skills, both oral and written, with superiors, colleagues, subordinates, and individuals inside and outside the Judicial Branch.
