Essential Duties:Uses hand tools, power tools, Bridgeport , lathe, shear, band saw, roll, brake press (Pacific) tube bender to cut, shape and join a variety of sheet metal materials, including aluminum and stainless steelUses Cincinnati Laser and other tools to burn out and join a variety of sheet metal materials, including aluminum and stainless steelAble to check parts to engineering drawings using precision measuring equipmentOperates Fab Shop and Machine Shop machinery and equipment.Reads job specifications to determine machine adjustments and material requirementsSets stops or guides to specified length as indicated by scale, rule or templatePositions work piece against stops or aligns layout marks with die or bladePushes button or depresses pedal to activate machineObserves machine operation to detect work piece defects or machine malfunctionMeasures work piece dimensions to determine accuracy of machine operationRemoves burrs, sharp edges, rust, or scale from work piecePerforms minor machine maintenance such as oiling machines, dies, or work piecesSets up and performs maintenance on fab and machine shop machines and performs burning workOperates any equipment needed to perform jobSupports, communicates, reinforces and defends the mission, values and culture of the organizationAdheres to all quality and safety standardsSupports other projects and performs duties as assigned

Education/Experience/Other Skills & Abilities:High School diploma or GED preferred. In lieu of diploma, relevant work experience demonstrating the required job skills and abilities needed to successfully perform the job1-3 years of industry experience preferred.Must be able to speak, read and understand EnglishAbility to work from verbal and written instructionsApplies common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.Knowledge of general math (add, subtract, multiply and divide) in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Computes rate, ratio, and percents and reads and interprets metal rule.Reads measuring deviceReads and understands shop drawingsWorks as a member of a teamWorks adjusted schedules and overtime when requiredOperation of small power tools, other hand tools and computerized and high-pressure equipmentAbility to operate a fork liftGoal oriented and team focused to ensure completion of projects in a timely manner
