Preventative Maintenance Planner

Salado Isolation Mining Contractors (SIMCO), an LLC of Bechtel, managing and operating contractor of the Waste Isolation Pilot Plant (WIPP) is currently seeking a qualified individual to serve as aPreventative Maintenance Plannerand join our team located in Carlsbad, NM.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the development of preventative maintenance (PM) procedures to support operations at the Waste Isolation Pilot Plant (WIPP) in Carlsbad, New Mexico. Candidate will be responsible for obtaining and maintaining appropriate training and qualifications (e.g., Work Planner authorization card, 40-hour MSHA miner, RadWorker-II).

Job duties include:

Coordinating walkdowns with a team of subject matter experts and safety professionals to define and bound activity scope, identify hazards, and select appropriate controls to incorporate into PMs.

Utilizing procedure writer-s manual and work control document template to ensure development of compliant, user-friendly PMs.

Initiating actions to procure parts and materials.

Facilitating work planning team meetings.

Addressing priorities as assigned by Work Control Management.

Revising, routing, and issuing PMs in Electronic Document Management System (D2).

Developing proficiency with Computerized Maintenance Management System (CHAMPS).

Incorporating Craft feedback and Lessons Learned in planning activities.

Exempt Grade Levels (28-33)

Minimum Requirements:These requirements must be met to be considered for this posting. Uploaded resumes and completed applications are the means of determination.

Bachelor-s Degree, or

Associate-s Degree plus four (4) years of relevant experience, or

High School Diploma or Equivalency with eight (8) years of relevant experience.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.

Must be at least 18 years of age; U.S. citizenship is required except in limited circumstances. See DOE Order 472.2 for additional information.

Preferred Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.

Operations or Maintenance experience within the DOE complex or commercial nuclear industry.

Maintenance experience/certification (Electrical, Mechanical, Instrumentation & Controls)

Knowledge of safety regulations and protocols related to maintenance activities.

The ideal applicant will have Procedure Professionals Association certification.

Previous WIPP Project experience.

Proficient in using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) and other relevant software.

Starting salary $67,817 per year **
