General Description

The Project Manager is responsible for the technical leadership to ensure fulfillment of contractual obligations including cost, quality, and schedules while maintaining company objectives. Responsible for leading teams to deliver results that span across all aspects of programs that are of strategic importance to the mission of the company. The Project Manager ensures that projects and Task Orders within programs produce the required deliverables within the specified constraints of time and cost and to achieve the potential benefits as defined by the Senior Program Manager. Contributes to corporate and program process improvement initiatives as it relates to improvement of the Quality Management System and adheres to quality and production control guidelines throughout the life cycle of the program. This includes management of issues, risks, and change requests to ensure successful and on-time CDRL delivery. Performs work under minimal supervision. Handles complex issues and problems and refers only the most complex issues to higher-level staff. Possesses comprehensive knowledge of subject matter. Provides leadership, coaching, and/or mentoring to a subordinate group. May act as a lead or first-level supervisor.

Duties

Responsible for technical oversight of projects and task orders within quality, and schedule constraintsCoordinates the efforts of the functional departments, as required, to ensure that projects are conducted in accordance with the requirements of the contract and statement of workActs as primary contact for assigned integration activities, leading technical performanceFamiliar with a variety of aviation systems, related concepts, and practices and proceduresDevelops and controls budgets, resources, and deadlinesDevelops, reviews, approves project schedules and project deliverablesCommunicates goals, scope, technical approach, and schedule requirements to assigned personnelConstantly assesses project performance and formulates, organizes, and monitors progress reportsMust be knowledgeable of the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and DFAR, Department of Defense (DoD) regulations, requirements, policies/procedures, cost/scheduling estimatingMust possess superior communication skills with experience in interfacing directly with the government Contracting Officers, Contracting Officer's Representatives, and customer designated representativesInnovation, flexibility, and initiative are important attributes, as well as the ability to work under unusual or extreme pressuresMust have excellent risk, change, and resource management skillsDemonstrates a solutions-focused approach to problem solving while identifying and resolving customer issuesOther Duties as Assigned

Education/Experience Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in related area of academic study, from an accredited college or university required.4-6 years' experience with aviation projects.5 years' experience in Project Management, in government contracting; interpretation of government RFP's and statements of work.Strong working knowledge of aviation product lifecycle management, BOM development and technical writing.Active Secret or higher security clearance desired. At a minimum, the candidate must have the ability to obtain and maintain a secret or higher security clearance.We maintain a drug-free workplace and perform post offer, pre-employment substance abuse testing.
