Project Manager - Aviation

With over 75 years of experience, Bolton & Menk specializes in providing community infrastructure solutions across the Midwest, Southeast, and beyond.In this role, you will be responsible for leading and managing the design and construction management for airport projects including extension and reconstruction of runways, taxiways and aprons; fuel systems; vertical infrastructure including hangars and AD buildings; NAVAIDS; etc. Other duties include management of budget and schedule for assigned airport projects as well as assist with marketing of future clients. In this role you will also serve as a client contact to airport boards at airport clients as assigned.You'll have the confidence that you're joining a growing business line and can team with great leaders as they will help mentor you in the next step of your career. This position will report to the Aviation Group Manager and work with the Aviation Business Development Manager to develop and implement a marketing plan. The ideal candidate will possess a high capacity for self-motivation and be able to manage and coordinate with staff and subconsultants from other offices. To learn more about our Aviation Services group, please visit: https://www.bolton-menk.com/services/aviation-servicesWhat You Will Be Doing:Responsible for the work of other engineers and technicians; plans and organizes airport project assignmentsServe as a client contact to airport boards/commissions and airport clients as assignedReview and/or prepare preliminary reports and feasibility studiesDevelop, coordinate and review the final design and preparation of plans and specificationsProvides technical advice regarding design, construction or modification and repairs to clients, contractors and other staff membersResponsible for the management planning, scheduling and performance of multiple engineering projects and personnel, both design and constructionRead and interpret engineering plans, specifications and reportsPerform effective technical writing and correspondencePerform business development activities (client needs, research, proposals, etc.)Coordinate construction administration and monitor documentation requirements with field staffApply broad understanding of civil engineering and other fields to reach innovative and interdependent solutionsAssists with the training and development of professional and technical staffDevelops relationships with regulatory agenciesTravel periodically to work sites and other project related location

What We Are Looking For:B.S. Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited collegeLicensed Professional Engineer in the State of IowaA minimum of four (4) years of progressive experience in the civil engineering field is preferred with aviation engineering project experience includedKnowledge of FAA Advisory CircularsExperience in plan development and construction contract administrationProven ability to lead the design and preparation of construction documents for projectsProject delivery experience working directly with airport clients
