The Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR) Western Engineering Office is on the hunt for a Lead Project Inspector to manage various civil and environmental construction initiatives within our State Parks and Forests. DESCRIPTION OF WORK In this position, you will conduct inspections of Civil and Environmental Construction Projects for DCNR facilities to verify compliance with official contract documents and relevant policies, procedures, and regulations, ensuring that facilities are safe and operate as intended. The primary project sites are located in State Parks Region 2, encompassing western Pennsylvania, though they may extend beyond this area. Your role will involve interpreting contract requirements through the review and analysis of technical drawings and specifications. Additionally, you will ensure that the Contractor executes the project in alignment with these technical documents. The construction projects may include a variety of structures such as foundations, bridges, pumping stations, buildings, roads, dams, marinas, retaining walls, storage tanks, water and wastewater treatment plants, swimming pools, campgrounds, bike trails, and other facilities of varying complexity. You may oversee multiple projects simultaneously, working independently or in collaboration with a Staff Engineer as part of a Project Team under the guidance of the Regional Engineer.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

Full-time employment Work hours are 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. This is a Home Headquartered position, applicants must reside in one of the following counties: Allegheny, Armstrong, Beaver, Butler, Clarion, Crawford, Erie, Fayette, Greene, Indiana, Jefferson, Lawrence, Mercer, Somerset, Washington, Westmoreland and Venango. Check your email, including spam/junk folders, for these notices. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

Two years of construction inspection experience on heavy construction projects such as dams, flood control projects, mine reclamation projects, treatment plants, hazardous waste projects, airports, highways or utility installations; or An Associate Degree in Building Construction Technology, Civil Engineering Technology, Survey Technology, Construction Engineering Technology, or a closely related field; or An equivalent combination of experience and training. Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree.
