Job Summary

We are seeking motivated senior undergraduate or master’s student in Computer Science to assist in a research project involving data scraping from online platforms such as Reddit and transforming it into datasets suitable for empirical analysis. This position involves developing and possibly automating processes for collecting and processing large-scale data. The role is ideal for students looking to sharpen/apply their skills in data engineering and gain experience in real-world research projects.

Responsibilities

Scrape data from online platforms (e.g., Reddit) using APIs.

Clean, process, and organize raw data into datasets for empirical research.

Automate data scraping and cleaning tasks where possible.

Perform basic statistical analysis to ensure the quality and integrity of the data.

Collaborate with the research team to refine data structures and ensure they are suited for analysis.

Minimum Qualifications

Preferences

Good experience with Python and R.

Familiarity with APIs and how to extract and process data from them.

Basic knowledge of statistics and experience with statistical tools and techniques.

Ability to work with data processing tools and libraries in Python and R.
