The Assistant Dean of MBA Admissions & Operations serves as a senior member on the Admissions staff for the suite of MBA Programs at the McDonough School of Business. The overall purpose of the position is to oversee the successful planning and implementation of all efforts related to admissions operations for the Full-time, Flex, and Flex MBA Online programs. This position also supports the Associate Dean of MBA Admissions in integrating the admission’s operational functions with core admissions team planning. The Assistant Dean also serves as a key member of the admissions committee, reviewing applications and interviewing candidates. Working closely with the Associate Dean of MBA Admissions, the Assistant Dean provides the Senior Associate Dean of MBA Programs with data and input regarding forecasts and analysis. S/He makes recommendations in support of overall enrollment planning and strategy. This includes setting admissions, scholarship, and interview strategies and assisting in determining overall goals for the class profile. Duties include but are not limited to:
Plan, implement, and monitor the overall admissions process (application evaluation, candidate interviews, and final admissions decision and scholarship selection) within the admissions office.
Set operations strategy and ensure core admissions functions are executed within specified timeframes in accordance with published deadlines.
Manage direct supervisory responsibility for the operations team and external staff (readers and interviewers), and the operations budget, overseeing all application-related systems such as TargetX and Schedule Once and their integration with Salesforce.
Work closely with the Associate Director/Director of Data Analytics to directly analyze application, admissions, scholarship, and yield data for reporting, monitoring, and making strategic recommendations to the Associate Dean.
Represent the Full-time and MBA Programs at national and international student recruitment events, planning and attending on and off-campus events as needed.
Travel to Georgetown’s campus in DC 4-5 times per year (if remote).
Assist with new initiatives and provide strategic recommendations to the Associate Dean of MBA Admissions.
Work Interactions
This position reports directly to the Associate Dean for MBA Admissions. The Assistant Dean of MBA Admissions directly supervises an operations team that consists of operations staff. In addition, they will supervise student workers and contractors supporting MBA operations. The position also collaborates with the MBA Admissions, marketing and communications team, members of the MBA Program Office, and MBA Career Center. The position also oversees the Operations Team collaboration with the Office of Financial Aid, Office of Global Services, and other stakeholders across the university related to graduate admissions and systems management (i.e., UIS, Registrar, Student Accounts, MSB Tech Center, and OADS).
Requirements and Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree
7-9 years of experience within a corporate or university setting focusing on enrollment management and/or recruitment
Professional supervisory experience
Proficiency with Microsoft Windows tools (Excel and Word)
Strong leadership and management skills
Powerful interpersonal abilities and strong team orientation
Core admissions experience or equivalent required (i.e., reading applications, interviewing prospective students, recruitment travel)
Must be able to work with various constituencies, including prospective students, current students, alumni, faculty, and staff
Must be able to think strategically in the delivery of programs and services
Preferred Requirements and Qualifications
Master’s degree in business, higher education, or counseling strongly preferred with specific professional experience in an admissions or recruitment environment
Knowledge of and experience with systems integrations and use of Salesforce and other database systems
Strong Excel skills and the ability to understand and analyze large amounts of data

Pay Range:
The projected salary or hourly pay range for this position which represents the full range of anticipated compensation is:
$54,616.00 - $100,493.33
Compensation is determined by a number of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s individual qualifications, experience, education, skills, and certifications, as well as the University’s business needs and external factors.
