Minimum 2 years of experience - must be recent, within the past 6 months.Travelers will need to pass a dysrhythmia exam prior to start (WITH 2 MAX ATTEMPTS), within 48 hours of offer.There is also a pass/fail Sim Lab on day one of orientation (study guides will be provided with first day instructions.MUST BE ABLE TO READ STRIPSSchedule Information
Shifts: 12 hrs. 7-7.Weekend Requirement: 4 weekend shifts per 4 week period (days - Sat, Sun, nights - Fri, Sat). One major and minor holiday.Floor specific orientation: 2 shifts on the floor.Unit Specific Information
Ratios: 1:4 ratio, days and nightsCharge Nurse: Yes, does not take patients. Also has Unit Supervisor.Nurse Aides: PCTS on days. 1 PCT or SWAT RN at night to task.Scrub Color: NavyTele: GE Monitors. Central monitoring station tech to read.Vents: NAHospitalist or Intensivist in house: Must call Physician.IV Team: No. House SWAT Nurse available for hard IV sticks.RT 24/7: YesPharmacy 24/7: Yes, ICU Pharmacist covers on days.Floating: Float to MedSurg Tele C5 and B2DAdditional Details
Unit: MedSurg B2C# beds: 29 bedsCommon diagnosis / Types of patients: General MedSurg patients that require tele. Amio, Cardizem to titrate down only.Additional Notes: Spectralink phones (call light attached to phone). Is the "new grad training unit", all new grads train with a "clinical scholar" for 4 weeks. Each week patient load increases to 1:4 final week.
