The team you will be a part of

This role is a part of the Maintenance Repair and Operations (MRO) team which is responsible for selling products and services to MRO focused builder customers including direct property management and MRO distributors. This team is accountable for leading Whirlpool’s strategy in this space and growing sales.

This role in summary

Currently, we are seeking qualified candidates for the Maintenance Repair and Operations (MRO) Sales Manager position to join our MRO team in the Builder & Pro Sales organization. This position is not eligible for relocation assistance.

The MRO Sales Manager is responsible for being the expert for their segment(s) of business and delivering a clear strategy, a national / regional playbook and sales growth for these segments. The Sales Manager is also responsible for managing top accounts for MRO. This should be accomplished through pricing, marketing and new customer acquisition. The Sales Manager will work closely with the MRO team, Merchandising and internal process partners such as marketing, operations, trade experience and finance to achieve these goals.

Your responsibilities will include

Develop deep industry knowledge and expertise for your segment(s) and maintain relationships with key players within the industry including relevant research and data providers

Create an overall strategy to drive growth for your segment(s) of the MRO business, ex. Hospitality, Healthcare, Trades

Create a playbook that will enable growth in your segment nationally as well as regionally in the field

Manage top MRO customers and own national relationships with customers within your segment

Prospect new MRO customers to grow Whirlpool’s business in this space

Create reporting mechanisms to give visibility to the results of the MRO business for your segment

Contribute insights and lead continuous improvement initiatives that deliver thought leadership and operational enhancements for Whirlpool’s broader MRO strategy

Develop strong relationships with-regional business managers and key cross functional partners in order to deliver the business and drive continuous improvement

Minimum requirements

Bachelor’s degree

3+ years sales experience

Preferred skills and experiences

Past selling or merchandising experience in the MRO segment

Home appliance and/or consumer product goods sales experience

Ability to build relationships with key customers

Exceptional communication skills and detailed follow up

Past experience developing and executing a strategy for a segment of business

Proven analytical skills and ability to use data to drive insight selling

Strong financial acumen

Ability to work with cross-functional teams to reach common goals
