Job Title: SUE Technician/ Vac Truck Operator
Job Description
The SUE Technician is responsible for assisting the SUE Analyst in the operation of a Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE) field crew. The major objectives are to ensure the quality, accuracy, thoroughness, and clarity of work, meet regulatory requirements, maintain public relations, ensure safety, adhere to schedules and budgets, and provide responsive service to clients. The technician must operate equipment, maintain a safe work environment, protect and maintain equipment and vehicles, and accurately and efficiently collect field data and locate features. Some overnight travel may be required.
Responsibilities
Assist the SUE Analyst in the operation of a SUE field crew.
Ensure the quality, accuracy, and thoroughness of work.
Meet regulatory requirements and maintain public relations.
Ensure safety and adhere to schedules and budgets.
Operate and maintain equipment and vehicles.
Accurately and efficiently collect field data and locate features.
Perform basic survey operations.
Essential Skills
Experience in SUE field operations.
Proficiency with survey equipment such as total stations and GPS.
Proficiency with SUE locating equipment or hydrographic equipment.
Ability to operate electromagnetic, vacuum excavation, and ground-penetrating radar equipment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience with utility locating, instrument operation, and subsurface utility engineering.
Experience with mapping and surveying.
