Currently, ManTech is seeking a motivated, career and customer-oriented Database Support Manager to join our team in the Chantilly, VA area. The Database Support Manager is responsible for the overall management and operation of the database environment, ensuring the reliable and efficient performance of databases across multiple geographic locations. As the manager will bring support to consular consolidated database, oversee posts, passport and consular systems. You will have a deep understanding of SQL database systems and infrastructures. You will also have a proven track record of success in managing complex database environments within a government context.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Oversee the daily operations of the database environment, including monitoring, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
Manage and develop database support teams, providing training, coaching, and performance feedback.
Ensure database performance, availability, and capacity meet defined service levels and comply with government regulations and policies.
Optimize database performance through tuning, indexing, and query optimization.
Implement and manage database security measures to protect sensitive data.
Collaborate with other IT teams to ensure seamless database support.
Analyze database performance metrics to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance database reliability and efficiency.
Basic Qualifications:
An Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) certification
A Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or Security+ certification
A Foundations Level ITIL v4 certification
A bachelor's degree
A minimum of (5) five years of experience managing database administration and teams
Strong understanding of database technologies, including Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server
Preferred Qualifications:
Intermediate Level ITIL v4 certification
Microsoft SQL Server certification
Experience with database projecting, planning, and design.
Experience with database quality control and auditing.
Experience with database technologies, development methodologies, and programming.
Clearance Requirements:
Must be a U.S. citizen
A current Top-Secret clearance
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to be in a stationary position more than 50% of the time
Must be able to communicate, converse, and exchange information with peers and senior personnel
Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a computer
The person in this position frequently communicates with co-workers, management, and customers, which may involve delivering presentations. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations
The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
