Achieving our goals requires strong collaboration and partnership between our teams and our internal stakeholders. To best support this, the person who accepts this role is expected to be on site, in office four days per week. To provide our employees with flexibility, we offer a unique benefit where employees at Fanatics' corporate entity can work remotely for up to four weeks per year, which can be taken in daily or weekly increments.

The Role

The Global Payroll Director will manage payroll staff, implement best practices, improve payroll systems, ensure adherence to regulatory standards, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance employee experience. This role will also be responsible for developing international payroll strategy, implementing international payroll infrastructure, and consolidation efforts. The Global Payroll Director will be responsible for managing relationships with Employer of Record (EOR) partners, ensuring smooth operations for remote, international, and contracted employees.

What You’ll Do:

Oversee the teams management of the Fanatics payroll process for all employees globally, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely execution.

Participate in and drive Equity events supporting the payroll and payroll tax perspective.

Assist in developing, drafting, implementing, interpreting, and enforcing a wide range of personnel policies and procedures.

Analyze current payroll procedures to recommend and implement improvements that streamline processes, enhance accuracy, and reduce processing time.

Manage payroll systems, software, and technology platforms to support payroll processing and reporting. Evaluate and implement enhancements to payroll systems to improve efficiency, accuracy, and data integrity.

Prepare and oversee payroll audits, both internal and external, including reconciliations and compliance with SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley) requirements.

Conduct regular audits of payroll procedures and records to ensure accuracy and compliance.

Analyze payroll trends, identifying areas for cost savings, potential risks, and improvement in payroll administration.

Collaborate with HR and Finance to provide payroll-related data for budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning.

Conduct regular performance evaluations, set team goals, and provide coaching and feedback to support individual and team growth.

Continuous evaluation of payroll resourcing and organization design to support current and future Fanatics payroll initiatives.

Encourage employee development through training and external opportunities to stay current with local and federal policies.

Collaborate with Fanatics business units to prepare and implement new payrolls in alignment with M&A strategy.

What We’re Looking For:

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Human Resources, or a related field.

Minimum of 8+ years of experience in payroll management, with at least 3 years in a global or multi-country payroll role.

Strong knowledge of payroll laws and regulations in multiple countries.

Experience with payroll software and systems, such as Oracle, ADP, Workday, or similar platforms.

Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Strong leadership and team management abilities.

Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or similar certification.

Preferred experience in the sports merchandise or retail industry.

In New York, the salary range for this position is

$188,000 to $250,000

which represents base pay only and does not include short-term or long-term incentive compensation. When determining base pay, as part of a final compensation package, we consider several factors such as location, experience, qualifications, and training.

New York based candidate will require heavy travel to Jacksonville, FL office.
