The Investment Operations Department (INO) is responsible for generating a portfolio of high quality, creditworthy, and environmentally and socially sound projects that result in significant development impact. The business cycle goes from the identification, selection, origination and execution of transactions to their monitoring. The Department follows a matrix model, with three Segment divisions covering Infrastructure and Energy, Financial Institutions and Corporates, and two transversal areas such as the Financial Products and Services Division and the Portfolio Management Division.The Financial Products and Services Division (FNP) of INO contributes to the origination and is responsible for the execution of sustainable projects with significant development impact throughout the deal cycle, including origination, due diligence, structuring and documentation, in close coordination with the Infrastructure and Energy, Corporates and Financial Institutions Divisions and the Advisory Services. The Financial Products and Services Division oversees transactions in blended finance, debt capital markets, equity and mezzanine, and trade and supply chain finance. The selected candidate will work under the direct supervision of the Head of the Debt Capital Markets team.What you’ll do
Support senior officers in the structuring and executing preliminary transactions in debt capital markets: evaluate, structure, negotiate, and close new transactions.Assist project teams throughout the transactions’ approval process including coordination with the credit risk management, environmental and social safeguards, legal, mobilization and other internal units.Assist senior officers in achieving the scalability and growth of new debt capital markets classes. This will entail the development of new products, appropriate transactional modelling infrastructure and standardization of internal processes and procedures.Manage relationships with existing and potential IDB Invest clients, investors and arrangers.Collaborate within team and across IDB Invest for developing regional capital markets strategies and support related promotion work, prepare internal and external marketing material.Collect and analyze relevant data and news on local and international debt capital markets (volume, type of issuers, structure, pricing etc.).Follow market developments for Green, Social, Sustainable and Sustainability-linked bonds and compile issuance data and theme of new issuances in LAC.What you'll need
• Education: You hold at least a Master’s, MBA, or equivalent in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, International Development or relevant field.• Experience: At least two (2) years of professional relevant experience at a financial institution, corporation, investment fund, multilateral development institution or other private sector entity is required.• Languages: Proficiency in Spanish and English, spoken and written, is required. Additional knowledge of French and Portuguese is preferable.Requirements
• Citizenship: No requirements• Consanguinity: You have no family members (up to the fourth degree of consanguinity and second degree of affinity, including spouse) working at the IDB, IDB Invest, or IDB Lab.Type of contract and duration
