Network Engineer

is responsible for leading the activities of the company’s corporate IT infrastructure and IT Support functions. In this capacity, this leader in partnership with business unit leaders, is responsible for the execution and operation of the overall IT function as defined by the technology strategy for the organization. This role will establish security standards and protocol while ensuring all systems are functional, secure, and compliant. Must be local to the Atlanta Metro area.Key ResponsibilitiesEstablishes network specifications by conferring with users; analyzing workflow, access, information, and security requirements; designing router administration, including interface configuration and routing protocols.Establishes network by evaluating network performance issues including availability, utilization, throughput, and latency; planning and executing the selection, installation, configuration, and testing of equipment; defining network policies and procedures; establishing connections and firewalls.Maintains network performance by performing network monitoring and analysis, and performance tuning; troubleshooting network problems; escalating problems to vendor.Secures network by developing network access, monitoring, control, and evaluation, maintaining documentation.Prepares users by designing and conducting training programs, providing references and support.Upgrades network by conferring with vendors; developing, testing, evaluating, and installing enhancements.Meets financial requirements by submitting information for budgets, monitoring expenses.Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.Required Qualifications10+ years’ experience working with Cisco network equipment.5+ years’ experience working with FortiGate network equipment.3+ years’ experience working with Meraki Wi-Fi equipment.5+ years’ experience implementing and managing network security.Technical certifications that indicate network and systems knowledge.Preferred QualificationsStrong technical project skills and goal-orientation, with a track record of successful beginning to end execution.Good verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate at all levels of the organization.Solution oriented with outstanding customer service abilities.Self-starter, able to clarify ambiguity and create solutions in a fast-paced organization.Ability to work on tight deadlines in a fast-paced, team environment.
