We have an outstanding opportunity for you with Emerson's Global Enterprise Legal Team. In this role, you will provide Contract Services to all Business Units in the Americas World Area, with a primary focus on Procurement and Supply Chain pursuits and a secondary focus on sales-related pursuits, working independently; may be responsible for management and supervision of Contracts Counsel/Specialist.In this Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:Reviews, drafts and negotiates agreements and transaction documents in compliance with applicable policies and legal and ethical standards, without supervision.Responding, within established guidelines, to customers' RFP/RFQs, vendor qualification documents and contractual requests.Drafting and negotiating with customers, appropriate contractual language to reflect the business interests and policies of the parties.Takes the Contracts Lead role on complex international and multi-BU project contracts.Takes the Contracts Lead role on complex frame agreements (multi-BU & -WA).Act as Global Contracts Lead role on Global Strategic Accounts.Develops and communicates creative solutions and mitigation strategies to key negotiation points.May mentor and train Contracts Americas personnel.Provides advice during the approval process to assist business owners in making informed decisions and secure appropriate approvals.Interfaces with vendors, customers, members of the legal team and other Emerson stakeholders to bring deals to closure.Analyses business, financial, and legal risks.Researches information on existing agreements and contractual programs, assisting with analysis and compiling data for reports.Provides contract-related mentorship to Procurement, Supply Chain, Sales, Project Management and other stakeholders.Legal research.Provides legal advice and interpretation of legal matters, including the application of law.Provides direction to outside counsel on routine matters.Who You Are:You see the broader picture, constantly inspiring future scenarios, and build strategies to sustain competitive advantage. You consistently use multiple methods to develop others.For This Role, You Will Need:Law Degree.Relevant years of work experience in a contracts-related role commensurate with the level of the position.Licensed to practice law in US or Emerson applicable jurisdiction.Strong Coaching & mentoring skills.Intermediate MS Office skills.Excellent oral and written English.Excellent negotiation skills.Extensive knowledge of Contract law & principles.Commercial provisions such as warranty, liquidated damages/penalties, payment & freight terms, documentary credits and bank guarantees/sureties.Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now and in the future.Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart:4+ years of work experience in a contracts-related role.Our Offer To You:Our compensation philosophy is simple: we pay a competitive base salary, within the local market in which we operate, and reward performance during the annual merit review process. The salary range for this role is $160,876 - $215,638 annually, commensurate with the skills, talent, capabilities, and experience each candidate brings to this role.
