Reviews, drafts and negotiates agreements and transaction documents in compliance with applicable policies and legal and ethical standards, without supervision.Responds, within established guidelines, to customers' RFP/RFQs, vendor qualification documents and contractual requests.Drafts and negotiates with customers, appropriate contractual language to reflect the business interests and policies of the parties.Takes the Contracts Lead role on complex international and multi-BU project contracts; complex frame agreements (multi-BU & -WA); acts as Global Contracts Lead role on Global Strategic Accounts.Develops and communicates creative solutions and mitigation strategies to key negotiation points.May mentor and train Contracts Americas personnel.Provides advice during the approval process to assist business owners in making informed decisions and secure appropriate approvals.Interfaces with vendors, customers, members of the legal team and other Emerson stakeholders to bring deals to closure.Analyses business, financial, and legal risks.Researches information on existing agreements and contractual programs, assisting with analysis and compiling data for reports.Provides contract-related mentorship to Procurement, Supply Chain, Sales, Project Management and other stakeholders.Conducts legal research and provides legal advice and interpretation of legal matters, including the application of law.Provides direction to outside counsel on routine matters.Who You Are

Law DegreeRelevant years of work experience in a contracts-related role commensurate with the level of the position.Licensed to practice law in US or Emerson applicable jurisdictionStrong Coaching & mentoring skillsIntermediate MS Office skillsExcellent oral and written EnglishExcellent negotiation skillsExtensive knowledge of Contract law & principlesCommercial provisions such as warranty, liquidated damages/penalties, payment & freight terms, documentary credits and bank guarantees/suretiesAuthorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now and in the future.Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart:

Our compensation philosophy is simple: we pay a competitive base salary, within the local market in which we operate, and reward performance during the annual merit review process. The salary range for this role is $160,876 - $215,638 annually, commensurate with the skills, talent, capabilities, and experience each candidate brings to this role.This position will be open for a minimum of 7 days from the day of posting.
