Join our team as a Systems Administrator supporting our team at our HQ in Chantilly, VA and play a crucial role in managing and optimizing our organization's IT infrastructure.Position Overview:NS2 Mission is seeking an experienced Sr. Systems Administrator with a strong background in Windows and Linux operating systems, comprehensive networking experience, and an active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing, maintaining, and optimizing our IT infrastructure to ensure maximum performance, security, and availability. This role requires a proactive individual with excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently.Job Duties & Responsibilities:System Administration:

Manage and maintain Windows and Linux servers, and VMware systems.Install, Configure, and troubleshoot operating systems, software, applications and patches across various platformsMonitor system performance, conduct performance tuning, and implementing capacity planning measures.Perform routine system maintenance tasks such as backups software updates and security enhancements.Design, configure, and manage network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs.Collaborate with other IT team members to design and implement network security measures.

Security:

Implement and enforce security policies and procedures to protect company assets and data.Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments.Respond to and mitigate security incidents and breaches.

Troubleshooting:

Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues related to system connectivity and software functionalityRespond promptly to system alerts, incidents and service outages.Document troubleshooting procedures and resolutions.

Collaboration and Support:

Provide technical support and guidance to internal teams and end-users.Collaborate with developers, engineers, and other stakeholders to support IT-related projects and initiatives.Document system configurations, procedures, and processes for reference and training purposes.

Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).Minimum of 5 years of experience in systems administration with a focus on Windows and Linux environments.Knowledge of networking protocols, concepts, and technologies (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, VPNs).Experience with virtualization technologies such as VMware or Hyper-V.Strong understanding of IT security best practices and experience with security tools and frameworks.Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.Active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph is required.Relevant certification: Security + w CEU'sPreferred Skill and QualificationsCisco Networking ExperiencePuppet/AnsibleScripting Bash/PowerShell/PythonPlease be aware many of our positions require the ability to obtain or maintain a U.S security clearance which requires U.S citizenship.NS2 Mission is an Affirmative Action/Equal Opportunity Employer.
