This is not an entry-level position. It requires strong knowledge and application of Army and Joint doctrine, doctrinal data products, and processes. Must understand the flow of data products between Army Command Control Information Systems (AC2IS), AC2IS to Joint systems, between brigade, division, corps, and component staff sections as well as within the Joint Air Ground Integration Center (JAGIC). Must understand the flow of data products between Army echelons and components. Must also understand the flow of data between Army/Joint C2 systems and the C2 Systems of multinational coalition partners. Must have broad knowledge and experience configuring these systems for optimal function and operation.Attends planning events and conferences for Army Warfighter and COCOM Exercises. Must know how to listen for and ask the right questions to derive and compile training audience requirements to support training objectives. Must be able to translate these requirements to effective and reliable network designs, C2, Common Operational Picture (COP), and Common Tactical Picture (CTP) configurations. The successful applicant will use this knowledge to advise training audience planners in the C4I, Joint Air Ground Operations (JAGO), and Intelligence Systems working groups on network design, communications architectures, and system configuration. Will provide written trip reports to AJST leadership.Attends Army, COCOM, and multinational coalition exercises. Must be able to perform the duties of Observer, Coach, and Trainer (OC/T). Provides over-the-shoulder training to systems operators. Provides coaching and training on Tactics, Techniques, and Processes (TTPs) across training audience staff sections and echelons. Provides observations to training audiences as well as Mission Command Training Program (MCTP) OC/Ts. Must possess outstanding communication skills. Must be able to verbally communicate observations to personnel across the rank structure, from junior personnel up to and including General Officers and senior civilian personnel. Must also possess outstanding written communication skills. Observations will be provided to senior AJST and MCTP leadership in written After Action Reviews (AARs).Works closely with AJST civilian and military personnel, 505 CCW, 505 Det. 1, and ACC personnel in the development of TTPs to support Army and Joint doctrine. Actively participates in AJST training events.Successful candidates must be knowledgeable in joint communications planning at the Operational Level of War for Army and Air Force organizations including corps, divisions, and Air Force Air Operations Centers (AOC). They must be skilled in joint communications including common operational picture (COP) engineering and common tactical picture (CTP) design and management and Theater Air-Ground System/Army Air-Ground System, systems that automate joint deliberate and dynamic targeting.At a minimum, must have knowledge and experience with the following systems and networks: AFATDS, TAIS, DCGS-A, GCCS-A, CPCE, and AMDWS. Joint air and Air Force systems include the AOC Weapon System Information Systems: TBMCS/TBMCS apps, GCCS-I3, and JTT. Multinational systems include but are not limited to ICC, BICES, and MNIS. Networks include: JTEN, MPN, and Centrix-K.Essential Job FunctionsExercise C2 and network architecture planning and configuration.Performs moderately complex systems architecture design using generally accepted Department of Defense planning processes and principles.Provides coaching and teaching assistance on joint air-ground processes and the systems that automate them to soldiers and airmen working at the operational level of war.Collects and reviews communications and network information including but not limited to internet protocol (IP) addresses; ports, protocols, services required by joint and service systems; unit reference numbers; formatted addresses; contact information all required for operational success.Performs basic troubleshooting and fault isolation.Supports moderately complex data/media recovery through system backups and database archive operations.Develops and maintains appropriate documentation including systems configuration checklists and historical data.Assists in the setup, operation, and teardown of the Battlefield Coordination Detachment Response cell. Maintains an existing training lab of DoD command and control systems as well as configuration managed common client workstations.Provides joint air-ground systems expertise, guidance, and further assists MCTP Support Team members during planning event JAGO working groups, JAGO seminars, and other times as needed.Assists our MCTP Support Team members as they work with MCTP planners and Det 1 planners in creating response cell and exercise control Exercise Support Manning and Equipment Documents (ESMED).Assists in training less experienced personnel including other C2 systems planners.Job QualificationsThe ability to obtain and retain a U.S. Secret Clearance is required before beginning work.Know how the U.S. Military, in particular, the joint force plans and executes joint air-ground command and control as well as the systems that automate the processes.The successful candidate must also possess the following abilities to:Configure assigned AFATDS and TAIS for successful communications within a joint air-ground environment.Populate operational data via CPCE into AFATDS and TAIS.Know how to utilize selected Joint air applications including, but not limited to CAOC Central and Joint Targeting Toolbox.Know how to configure and operate JADOCS managers.Backup and restore operational data on AFATDS and TAIS.Setup and operate Common Operational Picture tools.Review, understand, and react to systems logs.Document all work using prescribed methods.Top Three Skills Required to be SuccessfulTranslate operational processes into C2 architectures.Translate the technically complex into the simple.The ability to work within a diverse team environment and observe, coach, teach, and document the work of others.Summit Technologies, Inc. is an equal opportunity/affirmative action employer.
