Job Description:
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Analyst to join our Software Asset Management (SAM) team. The SAM Analyst will play a critical role in managing software licenses, ensuring compliance, optimizing software usage, and supporting the overall SAM strategy. The ideal candidate will have a strong analytical mindset, excellent organizational skills, and a passion for technology.
Responsibilities:
Software License Management:
Track and manage software licenses, ensuring compliance with vendor agreements.
Maintain an accurate inventory of software assets and associated licenses.
Monitor software usage and optimize license allocation to reduce costs.
Must Have:
Hands-on experience with Salesforce licensing.
Compliance and Audit:
Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with software licensing terms.
Prepare and present compliance reports to management.
Assist in responding to vendor audits and resolving any discrepancies.
Data Analysis and Reporting:
Analyze software usage data to identify trends, usage patterns, and areas for optimization.
Generate regular and ad-hoc reports on software asset management metrics.
Provide insights and recommendations based on data analysis to improve software utilization.
Maintain relationships with software vendors and negotiate licensing agreements.
Stay informed about changes in software licensing models and terms.
Collaborate with vendors to resolve any issues related to software licenses.
Process Improvement:
Develop and implement processes for effective software asset management.
Continuously improve SAM practices to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
Assist in the development and maintenance of SAM policies and procedures.
Collaboration and Support:
Work closely with IT, procurement, and other departments to ensure alignment on software asset management objectives.
Provide support and training to staff on software asset management best practices.
Participate in SAM-related projects and initiatives.
Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, or a related field.
Experience:
2+ years of experience in software asset management, IT asset management, or a related field.
Experience with SAM tools and software (e.g., Flexera, Productive, Aspera, ServiceNow, Snow License Manager) is preferred.
Skills:
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
Knowledge of software licensing models and compliance requirements.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Certifications:
(Good to Have)
Certification in Software Asset Management (e.g., CSAM, ITIL) is a plus.
