Job Overview:
A prestigious law firm is seeking a highly qualified Wealth and Succession Planning Attorney with a minimum of 4 years of experience to join an established and dynamic Wealth and Succession Planning Group. This role offers the opportunity to work with high-net-worth individuals on a broad range of estate planning matters, including the preparation of wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and more. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in trusts and estates law, as well as a growing understanding of state and federal tax laws, with the ability to work collaboratively within a supportive and collegial environment.Location:Chicago, ILDuties:Drafting and reviewing estate planning documents, including wills, revocable and irrevocable trusts, powers of attorney, and related legal instruments.Providing guidance on decedent's estates, gift tax returns, and estate tax returns.Advising clients on tax-efficient wealth transfer strategies.Assisting with family limited partnerships, limited liability companies, installment sales, and other related transactions.Staying up-to-date on state and federal tax laws, with the ability to apply these to client matters.Collaborating with other legal professionals and departments to ensure comprehensive client services.Requirements:Minimum 4 years of experience in trusts and estates law.Proven ability to work with high-net-worth individuals on estate planning and related matters.Experience with drafting estate planning documents and tax-related filings, including gift and estate tax returns.Familiarity with complex estate planning structures, such as family limited partnerships and LLCs, is preferred.Education:J.D. degree from an ABA-approved law school.Certifications:Must be admitted to the Illinois Bar and in good standing.Skills:Strong financial knowledge and understanding of wealth management principles.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Exceptional organizational and time-management abilities.Strong legal research and writing capabilities.High level of attention to detail and accuracy.Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
