Finance Data specialists
to provide expertise and guidance in supporting the build out of a Finance data lake/mart. This individual must have the ability to provide coaching to business teams and technologists by guiding, planning, and partnering at various levels. This specialist will partner with the engineering teams in the
establishment of a new Finance Data Mart . This role requires strong functional and
technical Finance Systems background
to partner with the Business and have effective discussions driving the capture, transformation, and utilization of Finance data to meet Business goals.The
Senior Solutions Architect
with the
Finance Data Systems
team will report to the Senior Director of Finance Technologies and will provide solutions on how to build out, maintain, and support a
Finance Data repository
to support FP&A processing and analytics while also supporting the larger Finance organization’s need for Finance data. This role will work with multiple Finance and Technology leaders to set the strategy for building out the company’s
Finance Data Mart/Lake
to provide a central repository for all Financial related transactions so it can be a reconciled source of truth for processing and the source for Revenue and Expense analytics.The individual in this role will be a key advisor and partner to the Finance Leadership to redesign the way they use their technologies in managing GEICO’s business. The Finance Data Specialist is also accountable to support the delivery of technology solutions that will support FP&A Planning/Budgeting, financial reporting, Revenue/Expense Analytics, and the build out of the Finance Data Mart to become a reconciled source to allow the GL to become a “thin” ledger.The ideal candidate has deep
Finance Systems
experience across multiple companies to support deploying best practices, leveraging their broad and deep knowledge of various ERPs (e.g.
PeopleSoft; Oracle EBS; Workday; or SAP ). Prior Financial Services Industry experience is required, with a deep understanding of the functional and technical aspects of
ERP and Data Warehouse systems .Position ResponsibilitiesAs a
Senior Solutions Architect
supporting Finance Data Systems you will:Leverage your deep Functional and Technical systems expertise to drive towards the right solution to support the department and GEICO’s current and future needsEngage in cross-functional collaboration throughout the entire software lifecycleLead design sessions with peers to ensure systems are well designed, efficient, and meet Business expectationsCollaborate with Finance Leaders within the FP&A, Controllers, Financial Reporting, and Finance QA & Systems team along with the Data Engineering and Finance Technology leaders to ensure organizational goals are metHave a deep understanding of Finance functions to support the establishment of a vision and technology roadmap to build out a Finance Data LakeSupport the development of a roadmap and then work towards implementing Revenue and Expense Analytical solutionsWork with Business Sponsors to develop project roadmaps which align to business objectives and sequenced by priority and resource availabilitySupport and influence customers and stakeholders, and work through divergent expectationsSupport the implementation of a strong control and governance framework and maintain it for SOX and Audit reviewsSupport Business and Technology discussions at various leadership levels to ensure alignment towards long term goals of Finance and TechnologyAnalyze and translate business and functional specifications and change requests into technical specificationsConsistently share best practices and improve processes within and across teamsQualifications20+ years of Finance Systems experience with industry leading ERP solutions (e.g. implementing and supporting PeopleSoft; Oracle EBS; Oracle Cloud; Workday; or SAP)5+ years of experience in implementing and supporting FP&A applications5+ years working with or supporting a Finance Data Lake/Warehouse/Mart along with various Financial Reporting tools5+ years as a lead or architect supporting Financials via the major vendors (e.g. PeopleSoft; Oracle EBS; Oracle Cloud; Workday; or SAP)Deep Finance domain expertise to be able to work with senior Finance leaders to interpret their process and functional needs into system solutionsStrong understanding of FP&A Budgeting, Planning, and Reforecasting processesExperience in implementing or supporting Revenue or Expense analytical solutionsStrong understanding of Accounting process and reporting expectations to partner with senior Finance LeadersAbility to communicate and work directly with leaders across Technology and FinanceSound understanding of project management techniques, methodologies, and best practicesStrong problem-solving abilitiesAbility to excel in a fast-paced environmentKnowledge and experience with the software development life cycleAbility to work independently and in a team-oriented collaborative environmentEducationBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business Administration, or equivalent education or work experienceAnnual Salary$130,000.00 - $260,000.00The above annual salary range is a general guideline. Multiple factors are taken into consideration to arrive at the final hourly rate/ annual salary to be offered to the selected candidate.
