The Hardware Engineering Program Manager (HW EPM) will lead a multi-functional team of skilled Electrical and Mechanical engineers, leveraging a strong technical background to effectively manage and communicate cross-functional issues and risks. This role is a key contributor to the critical path of new product system builds, providing a unique opportunity to combine deep technical expertise with program management skills.
Description
Manage the planning and execution of product prototype builds with full ownership of system-level flexes and boards. This role carries a high level of accountability, requiring regular status updates to key stakeholders and management. Lead multi-functional engineering team meetings to discuss design scope, set timelines, and ensure deadlines are met, while understanding the complexities of module to system integration. Collaborate and facilitate feedback between teams through the internal design review process. Ensure factory readiness by driving build timelines, tracking progress, and coordinating material delivery schedules for final assembly and team distribution. Set and communicate clear objectives for the build schedule, acting as the primary point of contact for the program with Contract Manufacturer (CM) partners. Drive issue resolution and deliveries with global suppliers, managing parallel schedules towards convergence. Maintain a disciplined approach to monitoring key checkpoints, ensuring on-time delivery while proactively mitigating unforeseen risks. This includes early engagement to identify, prioritize, and address potential challenges before they impact project timelines.
Minimum Qualifications
BS engineering degree required
1-4+ years of project management experience
Experience and familiarity with SMT process, PCB design, schematic, and layout
Key Qualifications
Strong technical background in EE. Masters in Engineering is a plus.
2-4+ years of project management experience with experience in working with CM partners
Detailed knowledge of product development cycles & strong understanding of manufacturing processes
Excellent communication, presentation, organizational and leadership skills
Highly disciplined in workflow, process, and staying organized on priority tasks
Superior attention to detail with a strong commitment to rigor and excellence.
Ability to manage complex build matrices and build planning through complex schedules
Self-motivated and proactive with creative and critical thinking capabilities.
Understands and deals well with rapid development cycles and constant change; remains flexible and calm in the face of uncertainty.
Ability to travel internationally to support builds.
