Key Role:
As a
Lead Systems Engineer - Chem/Bio , you will bring chem/bio expertise to advise and support Research and Development (R&D) and Acquisition program managers. You will work as part of a dynamic, fast-paced technical team that interfaces across multiple R&D, Acquisition, and Headquarters offices and programs. This role requires critical analysis, problem-solving, and collaboration with diverse stakeholders.
Responsibilities Include but Are Not Limited To:
Advising program managers on systems engineering and technical activities:
Conducting technology maturity assessments, technical reviews, and trade studies
Managing technical risks and developing mitigation strategies
Developing requirements, technology roadmaps, and conceptual architectures
Analyzing technical artifacts, developing technical objectives, and assessing program solutions
Conducting feasibility analyses, cost/performance studies, and strategic need assessments
Preparing technical reports, briefings, and providing data management and risk analysis
Minimum Qualifications:
Experience:
Technical management of Chem/Bio programs; knowledge of Homeland Security mission operations and policies
Skills:
Systems engineering, technical evaluation, project analysis, risk mitigation, technical writing, briefing preparation, and data management
Attributes:
Effective verbal and written communication, self-direction, teamwork, consensus-building, initiative, and sound judgment
Clearance:
Active Secret clearance; DHS Background Investigation is required to start
Preferred Qualifications:
Technical or operational experience in DHS mission domains
In-depth knowledge of DHS acquisition processes and policy
