Job Title: Staff Pharmacist - Oncology Job Specialty: Oncology Pharmacy Job Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Days, 8 hours (Monday-Friday; 7 am-3:30 pm, 8 am-4:30 pm, or 8:30 am-5 pm). Must be available for any/all shifts. Guaranteed Hours: Not specified Experience: 5 years extensive acute care clinical experience required License: Must hold a valid pharmacy license in the state Certifications: BLS (AHA) required; Board Certification Oncology Pharmacist (BCOP) strongly preferred Must-Have: - Doctoral of Pharmacy (Pharm D) - Ability to mix compounds - Completion of ASHP accredited PGY1 Pharmacy Residency in Oncology strongly preferred - Must demonstrate the ability to work independently without direct supervision - Ability to supervise support personnel - Specialty Pharmacy medication management experience - Must have own vehicle Job Description: - Provide patient-centered care in a multidisciplinary practice setting alongside pharmacists, nurses, physicians, and other personnel. - Assess patient therapy for appropriateness, incorporating age-specific modifications and clinical interventions to prevent adverse drug events. - Conduct clinical research and participate in professional development programs. - Serve as a liaison to other departments by providing operational support and educational services for new treatment regimens. - Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of regulations governing the preparation of intravenous admixtures, chemotherapy, and sterile products. - Supervise pharmacy technicians and other support personnel. - Provide oversight and participate in maintaining and storing an adequate inventory of all medications required for the practice. - Develop and update department and nursing policies. - Work with the oncology team to standardize ordering procedures for chemotherapeutic medications. - Adhere to vaccination requirements. Exemption forms are available with provider/religious leader signatures. - Traveler must be willing to work during holiday periods (e.g., Christmas Eve/Christmas Day and weekend after, New Year Eve/New Year Day and weekend after). - 8-hour non-billable orientation required. Ensure that proof of COVID vaccination (dose date on or after October 3, 2023) is provided, or intent to fill out an exemption form is included with the application. Compliance with safety protocols is mandatory, and approved exemptions require mask-wearing at all times while on-site.
