The Opportunity

This role will contribute to the definition, development and management of key deliverables within Corporate Development and across North America. You will support North America CFO on strategic initiatives and deliverables across Finance, Actuarial, and Legal functions. You will identify value drivers that drive business outcomes, facilitating key enterprise processes and opportunities for continuous improvement.

Primary Responsibilities * Support key corporate development projects and operating plan by communicating with key contributors from across the organization to align tasks with growth strategy and ensure cohesive project executionLead research to identify business and economic trends, understand competitive landscape though peer benchmarking and market screening, and uncover opportunities for business expansionUnder the direction of the North America CFO, plan and coordinate key projects and submissions by liaising with executive team, seeking stakeholder input and providing feedback to continually improve and ensure consistent messaging across North AmericaBuild strong internal partnerships and maintain regular communication of business needsSupport North America CFO in creating clear and concise executive level presentations that outline new opportunities, including strategic fit, financial analysis and risk profile to relevant stakeholders including Board of Directors, GEC, Executive Management Board (EMB) and othersFacilitate and lead periodic reviews of the corporate, growth, product, and transaction strategies including vision, goals and metricsPerform valuation analysis, financial modeling and other quantitative analysis to recommend opportunity advancementFacilitate the development and preparation of financial models, including earnings, capital and liquidity, to produce proforma analysis of key growth scenariosMaintain inventory of corporate development opportunities, including ranking of identified areas of growth by capital intensity and premium rate environmentParticipate in and facilitate cross-functional initiatives to ensure alignment across the business and create strong partnerships with business leaders in functional groupsProvide advice regarding financial implications of business activities and make recommendations to strategically enhance financial performanceAnalyze data to contribute to discussion of required hurdle rates for new areas of growth based on ROE and ROAC targets of existing class of businessAssess profitability and develop growth projections to recommend and build a business case for executive-level projects that meet organizational objectivesPerform required due diligence processes to ensure detailed review and evaluation of all relevant aspectsBuild team collaboration across the entire Finance, Actuarial, and Legal function; build rapport and offer an environment and culture that feeds creativity and growthRequired Education* Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and work experienceRequired Experience* 7 years relevant experience Preferred Competencies/Skills * Ability to navigate QBE to co-create solutions and manage complex projectsAbility to lead through influence to deliver outcomes on timeExcellent analytical skills combined with a practical, quantifiable and structured approach to problem-solvingAbility to understand and analyze complex financials and data related to M&A, joint ventures, investments, and financing activitiesUtilize strong interpersonal, verbal and written communicationApply business and financial acumenCommunicate effectively across the organization; collaborate with people at different levels within the organization to accomplish a common goalAnalyze risks, benefits and opportunities to ensure organizational competitiveness and satisfaction of established long-range objectives Preferred Experience Management consulting experienceExperience with mergers, acquisitions and divestituresCorporate finance experienceExperience in a public company Preferred Knowledge Economic and accounting principles and practicesFinancial markets, banking and the analysis and reporting of financial dataRelevant trends and information within the industryAbout QBE

Compensation

Base pay offered will vary depending on, but not limited to education, experience, skills, geographic location and business needs
