Pavement Engineer
to join our Transportation team in
Raleigh, North Carolina .
As a
Pavement Project Engineer , you will lead major transportation pavement projects throughout the Southeast and Midwest at the local and state programmatic level from inception to completion, driving innovation and ensuring top-tier quality, safety, and on-time delivery. Your technical expertise in pavement analysis, design, and execution will be critical in solving complex challenges. You'll also play a key role in client relations, ensuring project success and profitability. By leading and mentoring your team and managing each project phase, you'll help improve efficiency, refine processes, and raise departmental standards.
Your Day-to-Day:
Coordination of pavement testing to include FWD, GPR, IRI, Friction, Coring, DCP, and other operations.
Performing engineering calculations/design as well as the preparation of proposals, technical reports, and invoices.
Assist with marketing and business development pursuits.
Coordinate/collaborate with third-party vendors for MOT/utilities/etc.
What You Bring:
A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Mining, or a related engineering field
A Minimum of 6 years of professional experience
A Professional Engineer (PE) license, with ability to gain licensure in other states (as needed)
Excellent computer skills including at a minimum, Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint with the ability to learn commercial software applications
Proficiency in pavement testing and design software, such as ProVal and MEPDG
A broad understanding of transportation project delivery to include planning, design, and construction
The ability and willingness to lead 3 to 5 professionals and engineers for the successful execution of projects
Working Conditions and Physical Demands:
You are willing and able to perform the physical demands of this position with the use of Company-provided Personal Protective Equipment:
Working outdoors in varying weather conditions outside normal business hours, as needed
Routinely lifting and carrying 40-50lbs, (field/laboratory samples and equipment)
Traveling out-of-town and possibly overnight for assignments as needed
