The AWS Business Insights and Analytics (BIA) team is committed to delivering analytics and reporting solutions tailored for AWS executive leadership on a regular basis. As a BI Engineer, you will play a crucial role in driving the core metrics expansion across the organization. This involves collaborating closely with various stakeholders to define, implement, and automate the key performance indicators that power our business decisions.
In this position, you will also be responsible for performing in-depth trend analysis to support accurate forecasting and planning. Using your strong analytical skills, you will explore innovative mechanisms to transform raw data into first-class business insights that inform strategic decision-making.
We deal with billions of line items and manage artifacts using cutting-edge big data technologies. Additionally, you will also be expected to conduct peer code reviews to help raise the bar of Amazon's coding standards and best practices.
Key job responsibilities
Lead the expansion and enhancement of core business metrics in close partnership with cross-functional stakeholdersConduct comprehensive trend analysis to uncover meaningful insights that support forecasting and planningDevelop innovative data visualization and automated reporting solutions to increase efficiency and scalabilityPartner with data engineers to ensure metrics solutions are developed in accordance with best practices for data integrityPerform peer code reviews to ensure code quality and alignment with Amazon's coding standards
Minimum Requirements
3+ years of analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL etc. experienceExperience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar toolsExperience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelinesExperience in Statistical Analysis packages such as R, SAS and MatlabExperience using SQL to pull data from a database or data warehouse and scripting experience (Python) to process data for modelingBachelor's degree in BI, finance, engineering, statistics, computer science, mathematics, finance or equivalent quantitative fieldExperience with AWS solutions such as EC2, DynamoDB, S3, and RedshiftExperience in data mining, ETL, etc. and using databases in a business environment with large-scale, complex datasetsKnowledge of advanced skills in Excel as well as any data visualization tools like Tableau or similar BI tools (familiarity with Tableau preferred)Experience with forecasting and statistical analysis

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $89,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
