Project Engineer – RNG

Position Summary:

Our client, an industry-leading renewable energy company is seeking an experienced Project Engineer to drive essential engineering deliverables for renewable natural gas (RNG) projects in development and construction. This role partners closely with teams in construction, procurement, and commissioning to ensure high standards of quality and consistency.

Key Responsibilities:

Coordinate deliverables, including IFB drawing reviews and technical packages, with general contractors and design-build teams.

Manage and review technical submittals from vendors, coordinating approvals with internal stakeholders.

Analyze change requests from system or technology providers, offering insights and sharing updates with project teams.

Attend weekly project meetings, providing updates on technology and system packages.

Standardize technical solutions, developing templates for broader use by the engineering team.

Participate in Factory Acceptance Tests and conduct site visits to vendors for quality control.

Work with Balance of Plant Engineers and Agricultural Engineers to ensure project specifications are clear to contractors.

Oversee plant control integration in collaboration with Process and Commissioning Engineers.

Organize and manage project documentation from major suppliers and provide a seamless transition to commissioning teams.

Address technical clarifications for construction teams and contractors, ensuring project alignment.

Collaborate with the Process Engineer on procurement recommendations and oversee RFI responses and submittal reviews.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (mechanical, civil, chemical, environmental, geotechnical).

5+ years of relevant experience in project engineering, design, oversight, construction, or project management.

Previous experience in RNG, anaerobic digestion, water or wastewater treatment, or biogas.

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills; team-oriented and adaptable to fast-paced, remote, and field environments.

Proven ability to prioritize and manage complex projects independently.

PE, MBA, or PMP certification preferred.
