Founded in 1988 by Paul Newman, The Hole in the Wall Gang Camp provides “a different kind of healing” to thousands of children with serious illnesses and their families annually – all completely free of charge. For many of these children and families, Hole in the Wall provides multiple Camp experiences throughout the year at the facility in Ashford, Conn, in dozens of hospitals and clinics, directly in camper homes and communities and through other outreach activities across the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic.Position Description:The Development Operations Director is responsible for all CRM functions for The Hole in the Wall Gang Camp's development office including records oversight, gift processing, reporting, analytics, revenue projections, and vendor relationships. This role requires a strategic and forward-thinking approach to make data-informed decisions, effectively engage donors, and successfully scale operations and systems to meet the needs of Hole in the Wall's evolving fundraising programs.Our Development Operations Director can expect to…Provide technical expertise, oversight, management, and strategic guidance for the development operations team.Develop and oversee annual and long-term strategy for the work of the development operations team including database management, prospect research, portfolio management, gift processing, analytics and reporting.Direct the creation and ensure the accuracy of gift, donor, and analytical reports including gift reports, pipeline reports, fundraising reports, performance metrics tracking, prospect management reports, and mailing and email lists.Oversee data entry procedures, coding standards, gift entry, receipting and acknowledging to ensure work is both donor-focused and in compliance with IRS regulations.Lead the strategy for prospect development including research, portfolio optimization and management, and data analysis and ensure adherence to ethical standards and best practices.Project manage requests of the development operations team, onboard new projects, and provide direction and strategy on process for new and existing projects.Monitor and ensure optimal functionality of data transfer systems between Raiser's Edge, online fundraising and email platforms, and the volunteer database.Manage reporting systems and processes including providing direction for regular and ad-hoc reports the development and finance teams.Work collaboratively with the finance department to complete regular reconciliations to ensure all donations are accurately accounted for, allocated, and reported.Provide oversight of data integrity projects including ad-hoc and large-scale data cleanup efforts.Act as primary contact for development operations-related vendors including contract management and negotiation.In collaboration with the development operations team, develop a digital library of policies.Provide ongoing Raiser's Edge support, training, and guidance to development team, ensuring consistency and adherence to best practices in the use of Raiser's Edge.Perform other duties as assigned.Our Development Operations Director should have…7+ years working directly with donor data and/or information services.A comprehensive knowledge of Blackbaud Raiser's Edge NXT database view and webview.Demonstrated experience managing best practices and business rules, creating complex analytical and fundraising reports, and managing a donor database.Experience effectively managing and motivating staff.The ability to establish positive relationships with a variety of people in multicultural environments.Knowledge of nonprofit law and compliance.Knowledge of fundraising tools including Classy, Omatic, and Luminate Online preferred.Knowledge of PowerBI and Financial Edge preferred.A commitment to process improvement and innovation, and familiarity with the latest technology and tools in nonprofit fundraising.Excellent interpersonal, organizational and written / oral communication skills.Most working hours will be spent in a typical office environment.
