Principal Scientist, Group Lead, Discovery Oncology
Job Description:
Our Company is currently seeking an exceptional Cancer Biologist to join Discovery Oncology located at our Longwood site in Boston, MA.
The successful candidate will play a pivotal leadership role in driving high priority Discovery Oncology programs. We are looking for a passionate and creative drug development scientist who can bring direct experience in oncology drug discovery leading a team focused on development of novel and innovative therapies for cancer. This is an opportunity to lead small molecule programs focused primarily on cancer cell intrinsic targets with potential opportunity to expand beyond this scope. You will work in collaboration with physician-scientists in the early- and late-stage clinical organizations, as well as partner functions in chemistry, pharmacology, non-drug safety, data sciences, commercial and other organizations. You should have interest in collaborating with academic partners and participating in business development and licensing.
The successful candidate will possess the following:
The ability to role model exceptional strategic leadership, as evidenced by influence and accountability for aspects of both our Discovery & Clinical Development strategy.
Outstanding management and mentoring skills, as well as a genuine dedication to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion within our community.
Recognized internally and externally as a subject matter expert in cancer biology, with an accompanying record of accomplishment in delivering on oncology drug discovery programs, as evidenced by publications and presentations.
Requirements :
Ph.D. in Cancer Biology, Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Biochemistry, or related field
8+ Years of experience in drug discovery and cancer biology research and proven track record of sustained success in program leadership at multiple stages of drug discovery, scientific mentorship, and scientific initiative leadership.
Experience in leading multi-disciplinary/partner collaborations from project conception through IND-enabling studies.
Ability to formulate and apply enterprise-wide thinking to drug discovery research endeavors.
Recognized internally and externally, as evidenced by a strong publication, presentation and/or patent inventorship record.
Clear ability to lead through influence and collaboration within and across organizational boundaries.
Extensive experience mentoring other scientists.
Genuine dedication to enhancing DEI through active participation and role modeling.
Strong written and verbal communication skills
