This position provides an opportunity to manage a wide range of complex employment-related legal matters, including defending against discrimination, harassment, and wage and hour claims. The ideal candidate will have 8-12 years of experience in labor and employment law, with a proven ability to handle cases from start to finish and manage client relationships effectively. This role requires a strong understanding of both federal and state employment laws and regulations.DutiesDefend clients in employment-related litigation, including discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and wage and hour claimsHandle PAGA (Private Attorneys General Act) matters and class action lawsuitsManage cases independently from inception through resolutionDraft and respond to pleadings, motions, and discovery documentsArgue motions, including dispositive and discovery motionsTake and defend depositions, including plaintiffs' depositions and corporate witness depositionsProvide expert employment counseling on federal and state employment laws and regulationsMaintain relationships with clients, offering strategic legal guidance and updatesSupport the broader legal team by collaborating on complex cases and legal mattersManage a portable book of business (ideal but not required)Stay current on employment law trends and regulatory changes to offer informed advice to clientsRequirementsJuris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law schoolActive and in good standing with the California State Bar8-12 years of relevant labor and employment litigation experienceExpertise in defending against discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and wage and hour claimsExperience with class actions, PAGA matters, and complex employment-related litigationAbility to work independently and manage cases from start to finishStrong research, writing, and advocacy skillsExperience in employment counseling and advising clients on federal and state regulationsA portable book of business is preferred but not requiredEducationJuris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law schoolCertificationsActive membership in the California State BarSkillsAdvanced legal research and writing skillsStrong courtroom and deposition advocacy abilitiesAbility to navigate complex employment laws and litigation proceduresExcellent client management and communication skillsProficiency with legal software and case management toolsAbility to collaborate with a team while managing independent caseloads
