Business Development Manager Job DescriptionThe Business Development Manager (BDM) is often the first point of contact a potential client will have when seeking information about the consulting services Sure Power provides. BDMs are responsible for building strong relationships with clients, consultants, and industry professionals. BDMs achieve gross-profit targets by accurately gathering client requirements, understanding client procurement policies and procedures, and preparing and presenting accurate and attractive consulting solutions.Business Development Manager Essential FunctionsPerform warm and cold calling of past, current, and prospective clients.Build, manage, and nurture meaningful relationships with past, current, and prospective clients through active listening, needs anticipation, and world-class support.Periodic travel to client locations and/or attending industry-related conferences and functions.Develop a conversational knowledge of the Power & Utilities industry and key technologies used therein.Develop a comprehensive knowledge of Sure Powers core capabilities, qualifications, and history of consulting services.Closely collaborate with inter-office teammates with a Team First attitude.Actively engage with current and proposed consultants to better understand industry trends and technologies, and to develop a comprehensive understanding of client needs and opportunities.Accurately and effectively utilize Salesforce and Microsoft Office applications.Support clients in all time-zones at their convenience (may require work activity to extend beyond traditional hours).Accurately follow established internal policies and procedures related to the preparation and presentation of consulting services proposals and consulting resources.Experience in Staffing and/or Professional Services is a plus.Successful Business Development Managers:Must be comfortable speaking with Mid to Senior level Managers.Must be outgoing and self-motivated with a strong desire to exceed client expectations and Sure Power performance targets.Must have strong time-management skills and the ability to multitask with both focus and discipline.Must have excellent written and oral communication skills, including presentation and public speaking capabilities.Must be able to quickly and accurately recall Sure Power qualifications and connect the dots when introducing our capabilities to current and prospective clients.Must be willing and able to participate in Proposal development, including but not limited to the Writing, Review, and/or Submission process.
