Position: Director of Marketing

Reports to: President

Location: Charlotte, NC

ROLE and RESPONSIBILITIES

The Director of Marketing is a key member of the leadership team responsible for managing trade shows, dealer/wholesaler meetings, public relations, trade spend and advertising/social media and supporting customer and internal communications at the North American level. The responsibilities will also include the following:

Clarify the brand positioning of various product lines. Determine implications for brand promise, messaging, presentation, etc.Develop the fact-based performance claims (i.e., competitive benchmarking, use case testing) that can be used to drive more effective marketing/collateral).Work collaboratively with the Sales/Finance/Product Management teams to aide in creation and attainment of overall company goals.Improve and build out our online/digital presence, including upgrading the site(s) and SEO/SEM.Oversee the preparation of all company presentation materials for quality, accuracy, consistency and effectiveness for YOHT Executive Committee, Company Board of Directors, major dealer meetings, National Sales Meetings and for all high-level meetings and public presentations.Oversee all public relations for the Company. Maintain company's high level of visibility in trade press. Oversee frequent product focused communication (articles, blogs, etc.) aimed at dealers, distributors and end-usersDevelop and implement a robust product launch strategy and process for YOHT.Manage Regional (NA) marketing staff and create/adhere to the overall Marketing budget for YOHTA.Manage outside vendors for the Marcom function.

IDEAL CANDIDATE

The Director of Marketing should ideally have a minimum of 7-10 years of proven experience with B2B marketing preferably in an industrial segment with multi-channel distribution. As the senior marketing professional in the region, the candidate must have experience in trade show management, managing large dealer/wholesaler meetings and events, public relations management, supporting customer communications, and social media campaigns. He or she must be able to develop and adhere to annual budget requirements (including trade spending and advertising).

He or she must possess strong analytical skills and problem solving capabilities. It is essential that the candidate have strong communications skills (both oral and written) and be proficient in Power Point and Excel. There will be a strong emphasis placed on interpersonal skills as work will be done with all members of the YOHT staff, from sales personnel to CEO. An undergraduate degree is required although a master's degree is a plus.

This person is known for aligning innovation goals with business objectives. The successful candidate will not be measured by effort but by results.

The successful candidate will have created outstanding value by developing and implementing actionable strategic marketing plans and programs. As the senior marketing position in the company, the ideal candidate will have the ability to lead strategic collaboration efforts with the sales department, and be expected to analyze the value added by strategic (& tactical) marketing initiatives within the company and provide appropriate recommendations The marketing team is responsible for providing all of the planning and logistics for all trade shows and events which include an array of regional, national, and international events.
