JOB OVERVIEW
The Sales Manager will support behind the meter / distributed generation sales activities and directly drive new solar, storage and other energy infrastructure Energy Service Agreement (ESA) sales within the Eastern US. You will directly lead the growth of our client portfolios and project pipelines. The Sales organization will rely on you to execute target market and segment entry strategies and pursue new opportunities for growth in our rapidly expanding and evolving markets throughout the Eastern US. You will use your analytic and problem-solving skills to develop persuasive value propositions for prospective clients and sound economic fundamentals for investors. Working collaboratively with a team of development, engineering, legal, and project finance professionals, you will skillfully influence the decision-makers of our current and future clients in conjunction with the Sales organization's initiatives.
JOB LOCATION AND REPORTING TO
This position will be based in our New York City office or for the right candidate as a remote position. The Sales Manager reports to the Senior Director, Behind the Meter Sales and works closely with the Development, Engineering, Legal, and Project Finance teams.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead energy services new customer acquisition in the Eastern US, focusing on key targets.Own a sales volume target in a market; meet or exceed that targetAssess economic viability of project proposals and propose ways to increase project revenue streams or reduce costsInterface closely with Finance, Development, Engineering, Legal and Management to help guide projects forward quickly and efficientlyTrack and evaluate emerging regulatory rulings, regional state and/or utility energy incentive programs, and assess potential for market creationCollaborate with a network of regional partners who support origination, development or project deliveryManage the process of contract negotiations of Power Purchase Agreements/ESA, Lease, Cash purchase or other relevant project documentation on direct origination efforts.Provide management with regular updates and sales pipeline, forecasting, and progressManage incoming leads and sales pipeline to assess opportunities quickly and efficientlyEvaluate customer value propositions by analyzing customer's current goals for sustainability, operational resiliency, and capital.Skillfully collaborate with all functional groups to maintain (and increase where possible) deal velocityQUALIFICATIONS

Desire to work with new and existing customers on energy services projectsBachelor's degree required and master's degree preferred3+ years of direct energy services sales experience throughout the Eastern US with a proven history of exceeding sales targetsExcellent communication skills in both oral and writtenStrong insight development and value proposition definition skillsAbility to effectively operate with high energy and flexibility in a fast-paced, constantly evolving team environmentSelf-motivated with the ability to manage diverse relationships and multiple, complex projects simultaneouslyCreativity and critical thinking skills to tackle a variety of challenges from the industry level to client-specificAdvanced Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skillsSolar or EaaS industry experience a plus
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
This position is primarily sedentary in nature and requires prolonged periods of sitting at a desk in front of a computer. Long hours will be needed from time to time as dictated by deal flow and project deadlines.
