Job Overview & Responsibilities:

The Senior Supervisor position (Level 5) is a promotion defined by the roles and responsibilities of the Supervisor position (Level 6) but with greater responsibility for team leadership, performance management and administration. Individuals are selected for this role based on high-performance, high-potential and a willingness to lead and develop peers. They have direct oversight of daily operations to ensure the highest level of product delivery in accordance with Company guidelines, the United Leadership Model, and in the spirit of the core4 (safe, caring, dependable, efficient). Focus will be on coaching supervisors and frontline employees plus developing themselves as leaders. Recognized as experts in operational, administrative and technical areas of the operation.

The Sr. Supervisor - Cargo Operations will manage all aspects of Cargo operations including freight and mail handling, data entry, scanning and running and Cargo Internal Support operations (CRIS Operations). This position will focus on leading and developing the skills of front-line co-workers and vendors with the goal of delivering consistent and excellent customer service and delivering a quality product in accordance with Company guidelines and union contracts. Other key responsibilities include:

* Develop skills of front-line co-workers and vendors by coaching on performance issues with the goal of changing co-worker and vendor behavior through continuous improvement processes* Oversee and support the performance of a business partners, CRIS desk and ramp teams* Communicate and resolve issues with other departments (CLP, Sales, Ops, AOA, CS, CSC, hubs/line stations, DG Safety, business partners)* Provide weekly reports to the station leadership* Engage and educate front line co-workers to deliver excellent customer service and timely quality products through ramp, cargo and station briefings, one-on-one conversations and developing team communication* Proficient in the use of the EPS tool and a proven understanding of the various employee accountability letters, according to the collective bargaining agreement* Provide technical guidance and interpret company guidelines and procedures and/or union agreements to assist employees in performing functional tasks and to ensure that safety, security and service are delivered consistently* Conduct routine investigations to identify, address and issue appropriate and timely corrective action in accordance with guidelines* Partner with Corporate Real Estate, IT, local airport authorities and building maintenance to manage Cargo software and facilities* Represent station as advocate for areas such as Claims & Loss prevention and Temperature Control products* Audit vendor compliance of regulatory policies such as training, Safety (OSHA), Security (TSA), Customs (CBP), Government Affairs, Dangerous Goods (FAA), Accounting and Financial Controls (SEC), UA defined policy and procedure (FAA)

What's needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):

* High school diploma* Two (2) years experience in Supervisor (L6) position, proficient in scheduling, payroll and performance management systems to support frontline employees* Knowledge of Cargo Operations policies and procedures* Strong written and oral communication, conflict resolution and decision-making, proficient in appropriate work group and office productivity software (i.e., MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Outlook)* Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship* Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification* Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position
