General Summary
This will be a fulltime, temporary position through the 2025 session.
Examples of Work Performed
Assists supervisor in handling daily administrative duties and acts in matters where authority has been delegated.
Prepares confidential correspondence, secures information necessary for preparing replies, and answers telephone inquiries.
Assigns bill draft requests to appropriate drafters.
Transfers bills and amendments upon request.
Performs general office and other related duties as required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of administrative principles and practices.
Knowledge of research techniques.
Knowledge of computer word processing, spreadsheet, and database programs.
Ability to pay attention to detail and review work for accuracy and quality of content.
Ability to work cooperatively as a team member and to contribute to the efficient internal functioning of the unit.
Ability to plan, organize, and coordinate work assignments.
Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
Ability to deal tactfully and courteously with the demands of the Representatives, aides, and public.
Ability to handle confidential information.
Ability to understand and apply rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
Ability to utilize problem-solving techniques.
Minimum Qualifications
A high school diploma or its equivalent and two years of secretarial or clerical experience.
College education can substitute at the rate of 30 semester or 45 quarter hours for each year of the required work experience.
Salary
Hourly rate of pay is $15.00.
