As an Emergency Medicine Physician, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality, efficient, and compassionate care for patients in an acute and dynamic environment.
Your responsibilities include:
Acute Patient Care:
Assess, diagnose, and manage a wide range of medical, surgical, and traumatic conditions in patients of all ages.
Perform rapid and effective stabilization of critically ill or injured patients.
Diagnostic and Therapeutic Procedures:
Perform procedures such as intubation, central line placement, suturing, fracture reduction, and point-of-care ultrasound.
Order and interpret diagnostic tests, including lab work, imaging, and electrocardiograms (EKGs).
Collaboration with Multidisciplinary Teams:
Work closely with nurses, advanced practice providers, specialists, and ancillary staff to ensure coordinated patient care.
Communicate effectively with consultants and admit patients when necessary.
Patient and Family Communication:
Provide clear and empathetic communication regarding diagnoses, treatment options, and follow-up care.
Educate patients and families about their condition and care plan.
Documentation:
Maintain thorough, accurate, and timely documentation of patient encounters in the electronic medical record (EMR).
Ensure compliance with hospital policies and regulatory requirements.
Quality and Safety:
Adhere to evidence-based practices and clinical guidelines to deliver high-quality care.
Participate in quality improvement initiatives and peer review processes to enhance patient safety.
Crisis Management:
Manage multiple patients simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
Respond to code situations and other emergencies throughout the facility.
Education and Mentorship:
Mentor medical students, residents, or other healthcare professionals rotating through the emergency department as applicable.
Stay current with advancements in emergency medicine through continuing education and professional development.
