THE POSITION
Sr Staff Software Engineer, Continental Automotive Systems, Inc., Deer Park, IL:Design and develop software that complies with customer requirements and internal software processes for low level embedded software for telematics product platforms. Analyze requirements. Perform system and software reviews and identification of code metric. Systematically solve problems, perform root cause analysis and identify problems as they occur and take appropriate steps to solve them. Apply failure mode effect and analysis and structured problem solving. Perform functional testing (performance, memory, stability) to ensure the functionality and performance meets the customer requirements and identify corrective actions if a gap is identified. Create and deliver technical presentations for both external customers and internal groups to support technical design reviews and solution definition.
Telecommuting permitted up to 50%.
Full time employment, Monday
Friday, 40 hours per week.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Computer, Electrical, or Mechatronic Engineering, or a related field and 5 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate, related work experience.
Must have 5 years experience in each of the following:
C or C++ language to develop software for embedded systems and microcontrollers with compilers (including any combination of WindRiverDiab or GreenHills SW);C or C++ language to develop software for embedded systems and microcontrollers with compilers debugging tools (including Lauterbach Trace 32); andMicrocontrollers, including Renesas, Freescale, Infineon, Qualcomm or NXP.
Must have 3 years experience in each of the following:
RTOS (real-time operating systems) and real-time embedded systems, including experience with multi-threading, concurrency and memory management;Automotive communication protocols, including CAN, CAN FD, LIN, or Ethernet; andSoftware configuration management systems (including git and Gerrit);Requirement management tools (including IBM Doors or DNG);Issue tracking systems (including JIRA, Rational Synergy or ClearQuest); andDocumentation and design tools (including Rhapsody or Doxygen).
International travel required up to 10%.
