**Certifications:** - Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) - Basic Life Support (BCLS) - NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
**Must-Have:** Experience with Epic system
**Job Description:** - Work in a high acuity heart failure unit within a heart transplant center. - Handle patient diagnoses including cardiogenic shock, decompensated heart failure, STEMI/NSTEMI, post-cardiac arrest, TAVR, pulmonary hypertension, and pulmonary embolism. - Perform specialized procedures such as pericardial drains/windows, targeted temperature management, pacemaker placement. - Utilize specialized equipment including PA catheters, IABP, Impella, transvenous pacemakers, CRRT, EKOS catheters, and CADD pumps for remodulin infusion. - Maintain a patient care ratio of 1:2 and have the ability to float to Intensive Care Units (ICUs) and Step Down Units (SDUs) as required. - Ensure flu and COVID-19 vaccines are up to date, with exemptions only for medical or religious reasons.
Additional Information: - Orientation lasts for 8 hours. - Candidates must be open to either 3x12 or 4x12 hours shifts. - Epic experience is mandatory. - No block scheduling requests are permitted. - Travel nurses must reside more than 65 miles from the assignment location. - References from two managers/supervisors are needed for contract clearance but not required at submission. Charge RN references are not acceptable.
The position has restrictions on accepting local travelers, call-ins, and requires that any requests for time off be discussed during the interview. Orientation is conducted five days a week. Candidates who previously worked as permanent staff or in-house agency contractors must have a lapse of one full year before returning to the assignment as a travel nurse.
