Department:Epic System

Under the direction of the Director Enterprise Informatics, the Epic Project Manager will support a variety of ambulatory and acute projects involving Epic's Electronic Health Record (EHR) system at affiliated ambulatory clinics, community physician practices and the Medical Center. The Epic Project Manager will play a key role in assisting the Epic Systems department at Salinas Valley Health with the implementation, system maintenance and upgrades of Epic applications. Acting as the primary point of contact for all areas of the health system - including affiliated and community physician practices, the Medical Center and Outpatient Departments - the Epic Project Manager will provide valuable feedback and guidance to support strategic decision-making related to informatics projects. Additionally, the Epic Project Manager will serve as a resource for Salinas Valley Health and community physician practices on EHR-related topics, including emerging regulatory changes and the integration of artificial intelligence to enhance system effectiveness.

Serves as the lead for Epic project management tasks dealing with Epic EHR and PM system implementations, optimization, upgrades and 3rd party integration projects.Works with IT Project Managers to create and organize project plan based upon strategic direction setting from executive leadership -- specifically overseeing Epic Analyst build and project timelines.Routinely follows up with leadership on status of Epic projects, notifying leadership if timelines have any critical risks, statuses of deadlines and feedback on project improvements.Works with other Epic Team Leads, Supervisors, Managers, Epic Analysts and IT leadership to achieve successful implementation by creating clear project management documentation, direction setting and deadlines.Leads Go-Live Readiness Assessments with Epic EHR & PM installs at independent ambulatory practices and across the Medical Center.Assists with standardizing and organizing multiple and simultaneous Epic implementations at affiliated and community physician practices.Serves a key role in implementing new information systems by mastering the technical and operational components of the system in order to educate and train users.Coordinates and assists in testing system upgrades with SVMHS IT and software vendors as necessary.Serves as lead liaison/relationship manager with all ambulatory practices pre and post go-live. Rounds on ambulatory clinics and acute departments regularly to identify challenges or issues that arise pre or post go-live.Provides data analysis and report generation as requested.Acts as expert resource on topics related to regulatory changes that will affect EHR and PM support, implementation and upgrades.Responsibility for understanding processes and procedures compliant with HIPAA standards.Provides Epic Analyst duties as needed to help support Epic projects.Participates in organizational committees, governance activities, and system initiatives, contributing to the development and implementation of system solutions. Additionally, provides support to other departments and affiliates with software applications, including delivering requested training.Performs other duties as assigned.

Education : Bachelor's degree required.

Licensure : Project Management certification preferred.

Experience:

Two (2) years of Project Management experience, preferably in healthcare IT or within a clinical setting. Working knowledge of the process and delivery of patient care services in an acute care facility and office practice environment. Understanding of the supporting activities in clinical services, ancillary departments, financial services, medical records, utilization review, quality assurance, the admitting/registration functions, and billing and collections. Understanding of project management tools and methodology.

The hourly rate for this position is $54.18 - $67.73. The range displayed on this job posting reflects the target for new hire salaries for this position.
