Under the direction of the IT Application Supervisor, the Application Analyst is responsible to work with key stakeholders, end users and team members to identify and resolve issues throughout system development phases of assessment, design build, testing, training and implementation. The Application Analyst is the primary individual responsible for implementation, support & maintenance of key ancillary inpatient systems used in conjunction with and support for the Epic Electronic Health Record (EHR). The role requires a blending of technical and interpersonal skills with a reasonable comprehension of the operation department the analyst is assigned to and their information system tools and requirements. In addition, this role requires analytical expertise to information systems and end users with the overall objective of improving the use of application system functionality, i.e. enhance workflow, optimize business processes and identify appropriate system solutions.Acts as the primary support contact for assigned applications used in the medical center and its outlying ambulatory clinics.Identifies issues that arise in assigned application as well as issues that impact other application teams, and works to resolve them. Troubleshoots problems, issues and questions from end users via ticket management system.Guides workflow design, builds and tests the system - monitors previous build and analyzes other technical issues associated with the Epic software and other assigned systems. Works to create a seamless transition of data and workflows from ancillary systems to Epic EHR.Identifies and implements requested changes to the system, including moving changes from testing to production environments via Data Courier.Communicates all application changes, enhancements and procedures to other Epic application teams, operational readiness groups, IT leads and end-users as necessary.Maintaining regular communication with Epic and other vendor representatives, including participating in weekly project team meetings and other project-related meetings as assigned.Works with Epic representatives, Salinas Valley Health business partners, and end users to ensure the system meets the organization's business needs in regards to the project deliverables and timeline.Assists with developing business and operational direction settings needs by attending site visits, workflow sessions, and other integrated sessions.May participate in the development of end-user training processes and/or curriculum content creation. Collaborate with Education team on the development of end-user training based on build and functionality.Reviews the status of projects, timelines and issues on an ongoing basis with Team Lead and Management.Attends weekly meetings with team members to discuss the status of deliverables, shared issues, end-user concerns, budget, and upcoming milestones.Completes upgrade and testing cycles (unit, functional and integration testing); includes coordinating with departmental end-users and obtaining customer signoff.Works with other analysts to maintain continuity in process and in support of our integrated Epic electronic health record and other interfaced systems.Conducts system enhancements/new features, build, upgrades/quarterly updates and optimization.Ensures all changes to the assigned application follow approved change management policies. In addition, building procedures and protocols, creating and maintaining all documentation for all assigned applications and develop, plan and execute testing for supported applications.Participates in training build design to ensure that education is provided for ancillary systems and workflows.Performs other duties as assigned.Education

Position requires a high school diploma or GED. Bachelor’s degree preferred.Licensure

Current Epic Certification required. New hires and transfers have 45 days from completion Epic training to complete required Epic certification. Training and certification timeline must be completed with 90 days of employment. Epic certification will be required in the assigned area of responsibility (inpatient, clinical operations, pharmacy, radiology, lab, etc.).Experience

Two years’ experience within a healthcare related clinical environment and working knowledge of the process and delivery of patient care services in an acute care facility and/or ambulatory office practice environment. Knowledge of electronic health record systems analysis, design, build as well as Epic application implementation, troubleshooting, testing, and support experience preferred. Understanding of the supporting activities in clinical services, ancillary departments, financial services, medical records, utilization review, quality assurance, the admitting/registration functions, and billing and coding requirements.Compensation

The hourly rate for this position is $49.14 - $61.43. The range displayed on this job posting reflects the target for new hire salaries for this position.Job Specifications
